Re: Touring cars

Also i would like to know if Codemasters have plans to implement collisions off races too? It was a great fun too. No stress of hitting somobody, just speed.

great point. i play colls off half the time im on grid. its a welcome relief from getting smashed up every race

No idea what he meant, Grid was exiting enough, maybe it was him who got bored of playing SP :smileywink:. There is a saying in my country: better is the opposite of good - dont try to fix what is working well because u can break it.

If You asked me i would say slower cars means best MP experience - 10-12 evenly matched and fair players, door to door racing, exchanging paintjobs was what made Grid such a great game.

I liked the Grid style collision off with solid paint textures, I dont like Dirt3 style fully ghosted, you cant see the other guys tidy  lines or his misshaps. I know some people- certain camera users didnt like the full textures but cant we have ghosting for bonnet-bumper cam users and full textures for others.

Or better still a user set slider for texture opacity for the cars nearby- maybe even another slider for draw distance of car textures.

i never played dirt3 but i dont like the sound of the ghosting. one problem with grid collisions off was the name tags above the cars. as you got closer it became difficult to see the track ahead, breaking points etc. transparency option on the gamer tag would be great

Re: Touring cars

I think you should have the option of Collisions on Full, Forward Only or Off.

This means if you know that everyone in the lobby is clean you can use Full but if you are worried about people driving around the track backwards you can use Forward Only or even Off for some time trial esque races!

I agree, online should let host pick from the 3 collision options he\she want to host.

Re: Touring cars

I reckon Touring Cars is in. If the game designers are 'well aware of the love' then surely it will be in.

Then why Codies having such a hard time saying "yes, touring car racing is still in GRID 2"? A yes would stop all this worry and speculation. :smileytongue:

Re: Touring cars

Well, I'm sure they will do soon. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a playable car at the Eurogamer Expo.

Re: Touring cars

Forward only should not be an option. This should always apply. Go more then 5 mtrs in the wrong direction shall be - direct disqualification and kick. Stand still for more than 5 secs- Direct disqualification. However in a derby......well that's another side of the coin. There you should be able to choose -Forward and Backward racing allowed
