Default Almost unplayable on Live

At first this game had great promise - but now it is a simple exercise in frustration online using Live.

One never knows when the glitches will start and ruin anentire race, and get everyone mad at each other in a race. Instead of hoping to have a good finish or a good race, most of use just hope the glitches will not start.

Those glitches are these:

At some point the game will split up for each player - or for groups of players. This player or players will see cars stuck on the road, sometimes in the middle of the road or even low in corners. And these are crashable.

Soemtimes the game will produce a car that is goign the wrong war, extremely fast on the high side of the track at full speed.

You don't know if the glitch happens because you can't always talk to the host, so toward the end of the race - the race quits on you and you end up in the lobby. A good waste of time for a longer race. And you don't place for it - youa re just "retired." Not fun one lap from a quarter distance race.

Because the game keeps names above the cars, you think someone left their car someplac eon purpose or was driving the wrong way on purpose. What follows usually is a bitching match where players get ****ed at each other the host kicking people he thinks are not seriously playing.

This can happen over and over again.

There is no downloabable content so these glitches are permanent.

What would have been an awesome game, and a great game for Live - is not soemthing I would not recommend to anyone to buy - unless they accept the fact that perhaps half their time online will be wasted with it.

I think alot of the problems you are talking about happen when the host sets the game up for more than thier connection can handle. The cars stuck in the middle of the track glitch is defintely from the server being too big. People cuss you out because they think you are just sitting in the middle of the track, but you are actually racing. I just play with friends only on this game , trying to find a public room on this game is a joke.

If there was a recommended setting for players allowed we would not have as many problems with this game.

I don't know. It was posted in another thread that if you turn Yellows off it should get rid of that "players in the track" bug. With all of the other issues in the game, I am willing to bet it is in fact a game error and not a hosting connection error.

It happens under all circumstances. with and without AI cars, and even with just 6 players. Seems to have subsided only a little past two days.

I hosted for 4-5 hours on Monday, we had a blast. Only problem we had was in one session someone decided to be a problem and crash into others. He got the boot and the ban.

We may have had one race with a glitch problem, but I do not recall anything of substance.

Main key I found, run Custom Setting with Simple Damage, Penalties and Fuel/Tire Wear. It really helps keep the game flowing.

All Live games are patchable, weather they support DLC or not.

Yeah that's right England Intenational Football Hs no DLC but it has just had a patch realsed for it to solve the connection problems. To behonest i've had indy 2005 since the realeae date and i've only played 1 game online where there was a car suck in the middle of the track but this Hosts connection was only 2 stars and he was playing with 8-9 gamers with AI drivers, Every other onlnie game i've played, I haven't had a problem with it, So it must be over crowding. Why do codemasters all ways seem to have problems with there Xbox live games they bring out E.G. E.I.F, Toca 2 and now Indy car 2005, Maybe they should be testing xbox live games properly before they realse the games, Instead of rushing to get them developed and realsed!!!!!!!!!!
