Smile Can only run 177.35 Driver

Hi this is the first time i have ever posted a question at a forum but here goes,
I'v got a Foxconn nForce 4 SLi motherboard, 4000+ processor, 4 gig Hynix Ram (ddr400), 8800 Gts 640, Seagate and Western Digital hard drives, just running onboard audio (ac97).

I'm running the 177.35 drivers that i downloaded from cuda zone and i am able to run Grid with all settings maxed with 16 x xcsaa, with no stammering stuttering or problems of any sort,(awesome frame rate, smooth as), BUT
ocasionally when i start Grid i will get three solid vertical lines on my screen which remain even if stop the game and drop to the desktop.

One of the lines is the same size (very wide) and in the same position as the vista sidebar (which i never use) the secound line is in the center of my screen and is aprox 2 mm wide, the third line is hazy rather than solid, aprox 1.5 mm wide and cuts verticaly through the vista start button.

This happens ocasionally running the 177.35 driver but I can fix this by just logging off, logging back on and then starting Grid again ( which normally then plays fine), but with every other driver i will have to completely restart my pc to get rid of the lines so i get into a constant cycle of restarting.

Grid and also Dirt are the only games i have any problems with at all, and the really weird thing is I'v upgarded my mother board (the old one popped) my operating system (i was running 32 bit vista now I'm on 64) my graphics card (a 6600's just not up to these new games) hard drives, case, more ram, fans
power supply and even new ide and sata cables, yet my black lines keep apearing and i am wondering if i will ever be able to upgrade my driver ever again (if i want to play Grid anyway).

I'm a network+ certified tech but I dont know very much about codeing.
If anyone can offer any idea's or solutions to my problem i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
