old problem or?

I have some old games perimeter and ground control 2, i dont know if its my computer or what but the games install fine they go thru the beggining stuff normaly but when i get to the main menu it just flys thru everything that goes on in the background and i cant change anything in the setting i change something it prompts me to confirm the change but before i can the screen goes black and its goes back to before i changed it, and when i try to just play the game everything goes just abnormaly fast except for characters. As far as i know this happens alot on vista but i dont have vista can anybody help?

Old games were made for slower computers. The computer you have now processes the game much faster so everything just flys by.

Go to Google and type something like "playing perimeter on Dual CPU" or whatever you computer runs. The links will explain how you have to install programs that slow the CPUs down to play the game. You may have to adjust the slow-down program to get the speed you want.

I have old DOS games and there are a few programs which run the program in a DOS Box and slow it down. Try running Wing Commander on a computer today and you are dead quickly...because the enemy ships shot you down before you move your joystick! -)
