Ok, here's the challenge. I am sure that warden "tanks" don't even compare in the slightest to champs or guardians. In fact I think even captains make much better tanks than wardens.
But I'm always up for giving a new class room to prove me wrong. So I'm looking for a warden on Snowbourn who will show me that wardens can tank. Anyone feels good enough to accept the challenge and make me change my mind about wardens? |

Great idea - I am ready to roll a warden and would love to see some postive motivation for doing so, especially since the general feeling atm is that the warden is a great solo class but dosent bring much to groups.

Shame I play on Laurelin really, otherwise I'd love the opportunity to prove your assumptions wrong

Epic fail
Read the posts on this forum please before attempting to insult the Warden community. Between us we have tanked everything there is that can be tanked, and for the most part we've done it extremely well and earned the respect of our kinships and even server communties. We do not need to prove anything to someone who comes here onto our forum with such a disrespectful attitude. |

In answer to the original poster, prove to me that wardens CANNOT tank
. Our aggro moves are the best in the game (ignoring the bugged captains mark), far outweighing a guardian ( i have a 60 tank and a 60 warden, am my tank is currently housesitting in the shire). Sure, we may only wear medium armor, but my mitigation is 40% atm, similar to a champ.

But with much better avoidance and self healing capabilities than a champ....

I don't think the OP is attempting to insult, its a "prove me wrong" - Which I guess stems from having grouped with warden's who have performed badly. I've also grouped with a warden for 2/5/5 and he just seemed to be in for the ride, couldnt hold aggro from another champ. I've just rolled a new warden, and the initial feeling I get is that there is alot of scope as to how you build your warden, and inidividual choice on the gambits - which mark how effective you will be, so naturally some players will be much better than others at it.

Yes so far I have grouped with 3-4 wardens ( most level 60 ) and none of them did what I expect a good tank to be doing. Now I must admit that most tanks do a pretty bad job anyway ( no matter which class ), by that means most tanks don't even tab through the mobs and focus on 1 mob only and forget about the 3-4 archers in the back.
Now there is no way a healer can NOT get aggro from a bad tank, unless he switches to DPSing the single mob that is being tanked and forgets completely about healing, letting the tank die. The main problem with Wardens is that they take a ****load of damage in the first 2-3-4 hits. The ones I ahve played with would die if I let them take 3 hits ( medium armor ? ), so naturally, I have to heal them after they take their 2nd hit, latest. This means that I take aggro from whatever the warden hasn't hit by that time ( usually all but one mob ). Now the problem is that wardens expect me to be close by them , because they have only melee ranged taunt ( ... ? lol ). This means I will get bashed on by at least 2-3 mobs, which means I either start healing myself ( this ends in a dead tank ) or I keep healing tank praying for him to take aggro off me ( this ends in a dead me and thus a dead tank ). On top of this the hunters usually start to take aggro from the tank by this time, which also ends in a wipe. I'm not saying this is a tank's fault, because DPS should control their DPS, but the whole idea of a good tank is to maximize threat so you can maximize healing and DPS. I don't know any wardens with good threat generation. See my dilemma ? No ranged taunts + Medium armor + Poor threat generation = fail |
