Default Having or had any force feedback issues?

Hi Racing Fans,

I have a small email discussion with tech support regarding force feedback support. My problem is that some FX are

sometimes missing. I know this is already discussed in multiple threads, but....

I got the following reply from tech support:
Quote:
We have to say that we are unsure as to where the problem may lie - we certainly have had very few people email us who have not been able
to get their controllers to work as they desire within the game.
So is this quote true or not? Please post your reply if you are experiencing the same problem or have experienced this. It would be great if you could describe what your system / driver specs are or what helped to get it fixed.

My specs
Gigabyte GA-8INXP Intel E7205 chipset (including all latest drivers)
Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz @ 3.46 GHz
2 * 512 MB Kingston value RAM 266 DDR @ 300 MHz
2 * 120 GByte Maxtor 7K2 in RAID 0 config on onboard promise
Thrustmaster F1 Force feedback Wheel (Unified 10.0 drivers)
Soundblaster Audigy 2 (AUD2DRVLB030425.exe)
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Omega drivers based on Catalyst 3.4
Windows XP Professional SP 1
DirectX 9.0a

Tried it on my Win98 system as well same result

For a workarround I discovered see: http://community.codemasters.com/for...188#post215188

I haven't bought a PC game for ages now because I've felt there has been too many 'driver issues' as of late in not making a game work properly. Paying 80-100 bucks for code that hasn't been tested properly is NOT value for money.

Today I went and bought the PC version of v8 supercars race driver. Very enjoyable game WHEN IT WORKS. I have a Thrustmaster Force Feedback wheel running through USB and it will completely cut out mid-race. No steering, braking, gears, nothing. The wheel works fine with other games. I have all the updated drivers and have determined the fault to lie within the game.

So, I just wasted more cash. Great. Now, if I'm lucky, a patch will be released to fix this problem by which time the game will probably only be 20 bucks in the bargain bin section. Imagine going to buy a real car and your steering wheel doesn't work only to be told by the company that they might fix it later. Yeah, right.

Anyway, here is some info that might be of interest to anyone that may be in a position to fix this problem:

I've found the problem to be most prevalent during the Knockhill race in Career Mode in the Toca Tour. At some stage during the race, the wheel will completely drop-out. I then have to switch the wheel off and on again to get it working. I also have to exit the game as switching the wheel off in the game makes the game run slower.

System specs:
Mother board: Gigabyte P4 Titan SIS 654DX
(On Board sound disabled)
Intel P4 2.4
2x512Mb Kingston pc2100 ram (1Gb Total)
Sound Blaster Live Value
Plenty of HD space(Totaling 100Gb)
WinXP Pro.
Geforce 4 Mx 440
Thrustmaster Force Feedback Wheel(The one with the Ferrari Horse on the wheel) - it has two connectors - one USB and one 9 pin - Using only USB.
DirectX9.0a
Latest Nvidia drivers - whatever the hell thry're up to now!(too tired to check)

Fingers crossed for a fix, or at least a sensible response
