Thumbs down More Makes in The V8's

I think the idea sucks, it would be a big waste for toyota and mitsubishi they would have to spend big bucks just to get a engine in them that would be able to keep up with the field as they only have v6 engines. And then you would be introducing the problem of pre qualifing again there would be more cars on the grid so u might pay 90 bucks and not even see ur favourate race driver.

Well Smife, shows how much you know about cars. Just so you know for future reference, Toyota DOES have a V8 engine. They came out in the soarer. So maybe you should check the facts before assuming things.

Ah hello? Holden runs a Chev motor which is not australian and have been for years. In fact i read before the VT/X came out that it was based a little on a Buick.

the chev 5.0l motor is not anything like the current 5.7l gen 3.
it is not even offered in the aussie line up and is of old style chev.
the motors in the v8 supercars are the same basic's as the US nascars which if you checked on are very close in performance including dodge.
the last time i checked ford was leading championship plus manufacture's championship.

the ford windsor style engine is available and you are lucky that ford australia didn't continue with the clevo as it licked the 350 chev monaro's back in the early 70's before the ****s in our government tamed it.
imagine how good it would be now.(alloy svo block with robert yates heads of which ****y used the year his cars where so fast down conrod.)
these heads are more than likely the reason why we now have the 7500 rev limit as these heads on a 5.0l would love making big hp well past 7500.
and don't give me the 1972 brock crap as he was running a illegal alloy cylinder block in his xu1 which would have helped big time in wet conditions.
1971 gtho phase 3 14.2-14.6 1/4, top speed 140mph rev limited, 291kw/380hp.
the only thing that came close was the charger.

the real problem is that gmh don't have a overhead cammed engine and would not be competitive with the likes of ford, toyota, mits
