XBL - Cheating online

In the account settings on Xbox Live it has a statement

"Dont cheat in a game unless cheats have been diliberately enabled"

Whats your oppinion on what should happen with Codemasters Race Driver 2 game. You can purchase cheats from them for $8 (AUS) and then use the cheats online (according to a huge ammount of people claiming this, and some have tested it). Lap times are getting smashed due to somebody enablilng a cheat to have faster speeds etc in the game. And the people who dont fork out the cash, are getting swept off the leaderboard.

On top of this Australia is ready to embark on a huge online competition and its based on lap times, how can MS, codemasters and Atari run a competition where cheating like this can happen.

I beleive all cheats for online games should be taken out.

I have no problems with cheats in offline mode, but keep it out of the online racing. Do we expect to see codemasters to fix this??

I just came to these forums to complain about this very same issue.

The cheating in V8 Supercars 2 has to be stoped. I don't know what Codemasters where thinking allowing cheats to be used online but they need to fix it.

First of all you have that guy sitting on top of the rankings with an insane amount of points and a billion races under his belt. Been there for a while now and Codemasters seem happy with it. It would only take them 5 minutes and one SQL statemnt to get rid of him but no...

Secondly and more importantly is the issue of lap times. This is very important since $100,000 worth of prizes are on the line. Players are truning off damage to ride the walls, they are cutting the grass and taking shortcuts, and worst of all they are using Front Wheel drive V8 Supercars online. On a track like adelade this shaves a good 4-5 seconds of the lap time alone, turn damage off and you have a combination which allows a newbie to set world records.

The competition starts on May 1st. So what are you doing Codemasters?

we're looking at it.

as far as we know- none of the cheats should work online.

. When can we expect the patch? And will the scoreboards be reset if the game is patched?

BTW will the scoreboards be reset after the patch or will the uncatchable cheat world records be set in stone?
