X800 256mb card and a really good PSU/Cooler, latest drivers.
P4 3.5Ghz, 1Gb Dual Mem RAM. I'm usually very cautious about my computer temperature because I had a card burnt once. Now, I have a really good and powerful PSU and I keep the computer in the open when possible (not under desk or anything, trying to give best ventilation possible, case closed of course). Now, I started playing MP Demo of TOCA yesterday and while waiting for a race to finish, I started swapping back and forth between the race lobby and the spectator mode. After couple minutes, my card temp was up to 105°C according to Catalyst control so I immediately shut down the whole game, card went back down to 50-60° pretty fast. Intrigued, I started other 3D heavy applications (F.E.A.R, HL2, DDO, EQ2) and noticed that while the card temperature went up a little, it never went above 80°C or so. I'm not sure what caused this for TOCA, but let's just say that past 100°C, your card lifetime takes a hit. Past 125°C, it's just gone and other parts of your computer with it... I'm not a huge fan of TOCA, was merely to try it out, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed something like that?
