Exclamation SRL League - Recruiting NOW

Hi All,

The 'Specialists Race League' is now recruiting members for league races. We are a clan that wants to put the FUN back into ToCA3.

The Forum has been set up with the idea of having a number of leagues all in one place. You can choose to enter all, or some, or even none of the races if you wish. But all are welcome on the website & forum, where a busy community is already up and running (Adult Banter Included). So far the site has been open and accepting members for a short period, and we already have 31 members and there has been over a thousand posts on the forum. The site is exclusive to Headset users on the PS2, and therefore ONLY Headset users will be allowed to race in the actual league races. All current planned races will be using 'Sim' setting's for Handling, Gravel traps and damage.

Catagories for racing include: (Updated May '07)

Autosport Clio's - Season Four - Weekly / Sat nights
DTM's - started already - Weekly / Wed nights
Pairs Team Racing (Clio's) - SEASON ONE FINISHED, SEASON TWO STARTING SOON
Mixed Bag Racing - SEASON ONE FINISHED, SEASON TWO STARTING SOON
Formula 1000's - Finished Season.
B-Class 4WD's - Finished Season.
GT-Lights - Finished Season.

The Inaugaral SRL race was in the Autosport Clio's and took place on Saturday 2nd September 2006. It was hailed a great success. We had to open three rooms for hosting due to the amount of interest.

We also have posts for other on-line PS2 games, so you can arrange to meet up with friends on games other than ToCA3.

To remain an SRL member you must participate in 'some' of the championships periodically. Otherwise in-active members may be removed from the forum. Members are also expected to follow the Rules.

What the uck is all this? Every few days a clan arrives wanting to "put the fun back in toca 3"

Good luck with your clan, i fully support anybody willing to take up the daily running, i know how hard it is, but all the "Specialists" are in UKOG and such.

The fun of ToCA is close even races with good clean competitors. I love being overtaken if it means being side by side for 3 corners. Thats the fun.

(Im not actually part of ADVR btw)

Lotus,

I couldn't agree more, but the SRL has been set up due to the apparent colapse of another clan site (Not saying which one).

We at the SRL hope that many more people will join up, and enjoy the good humour on the website/forum, aswel as good clean racing.

We realise that there are many different clans who are only willing to take on new mambers 'IF' they meet up to the other members standards. However, we at the SRL, wish the racing to be FUN for all. So therefore the doors are open to anyone wishing to join. With this policy, we hope to bring both seasoned drivers together with some more, shall we say newbie's. With the hope to bring everyone up to the same standard over time. But, members must take on the ethics of the SRL rules, any driver found to be breaking the rules will be punished.

Close racing is FUN, but sometime's un-realistic. After all you only have to watch a 'BTCC', or 'Clio Racing Cup' race to realise that accidents do actually happen in the real world. (Jason Plato & Matt Neal in the BTCC to mention but two drivers who prove this point).

We don't want to be elitist, but we do ask that drivers take into account where other drivers are while on-track. With this in mind, we hope that clean racing will run hand-in-hand with all the SRL league races.

I'm not entirely sure that's an accurate statement to make.

All the Leagues/Clans that I know of actively encourage drivers of all skills to join. Admittedly, some "vet" potential members - but this process isn't about how fast or how good you are - it's about the race ethics and racecraft. Every group has skills ranging from Superfast Pro to Newbie. Which clan you race with really boils down to which "bunch of guys and gals" you best interact with - and have fun racing in the process.

Good Luck with the SRL though.

Doncheck,

Again, just like with Lotus, I couldn't agree more.

The SRL has a set of rules that are simple to follow if you wish to remain an SRL member. There is nothing out of the ordinary, and are simply in place to ensure league races are followed with a respect for your fellow racers.

Players who do not follow the rules, could face warnings, suspension, or total Ban. This is at the discretion of SRL Admin.

Derek, you'll be more than welcome at this website mate. I apologise for what happened in the other clan. But it was beyond my control m8.
