Can't Wait to get TRD2 this Friday and I'm just wondering what people reckon is the best steering wheel to use. I normally use the controller and have never used a wheel but from reading this forum it sounds like I'll be really missing out. So if I'm going to shell out some dosh, which one should I buy??

If your serious and don't mind putting up 100$ or more, get the Logitech GT4 wheel. However, to use this weel properly, you'll need to figure out a way to clamp it to a desk, table or some kind of racing rig (which is what I did). If you can't do that, you may still want to get this wheel but pay a bit more and get the lap adapter. This wheel is solid in every way. Plus it has the 900 degree rotation, which is supported by this game! It also has paddle shipters and a small sequential shipter on the side. The peddals are also very good. There is enough travel lenght in them and they come with a grip mechanism can be activated if you have a carpet floor. The FF effect is defaulted at 60% but can be increased to 100% with a combination of buttons. On the negative side, I would say that this weel is a bit noisy. The motor seem to make more noise than other FF wheel. Logitech says that the default rotation is 200% but it's more like 180% (unless you activate the 900% feature). This is USB wheel and will work with most PC titles as well..
In conclusion I will say that this game takes a new meaning with this wheel.. |

I could not be any happier with this wheel. It was originally purchassed for use with my Mac & F1 Championship from EA. I soon found out that it also worked on my PS2 with GT3 and now TOCA2 and to top it off my PC with GP4 & Legends.
This wheel has the best feel. The wheel itself is very similar to a Formula Car wheel wrapped in leather with metal paddle shifters and a diamond plate footing surface under the pedals. I use this wheel in a rig I built myself with the seat from a Toyota MR2. The combination feels great. TOCA2 in the DTM series reminds me of the handling of my Shifter Kart. I use these games as a training tool for reaction times and learning tracks. After practicing @ Laguna Seca on TOCA2, I was able to drop my lap times in a 250 SuperKart by 2.3 seconds a lap. There is a direct relationship between the sims and being fast on track in real life. Smooth on the sim, smooth on track. You can try things on the sim that you would never attempt on the track, in complete saftey. Buy a Logitech™ MOMO™ Force wheel if you can find one. I think they've been discontinued. I hear the new wheel for GT4 is awsome as well, but I haven't tried it yet. But I will, you can be sure of that.

If anyone needs a Quick & Dirty wheel stand, check out this description of one that I made. I just updated it and added some comments after having used it for a few months.
MasterGT's Cheap Wheel Stand Feedback is welcomed! Cheers, MasterGT |

The above post are right, If you want the best thing out there then you want the Logitech Driving Force Pro. From the day I bought it I haven't regretted it at all. At the time it was $200 CDN and it has been worth every penny. And I have said it in many different forums when asked... It is the greatest thing since sliced bread!
On a side note, nice to see you here MasterGT. Does this mean your playing TRD2?

Yes, I got it about a week ago, but no broadband yet. It's good that I don't have to pay for repairs. Cheers, MasterGT |

Two letters and one word: TV TRAY
I have an extensive racing rig for my online racing but when I go to my friends house to play lan games split on his big screen I take two of my wooden tv trays. the wheel mounts well to it and with a carpeted floor the "spike strip" on the bottom keeps the pedals from really sliding. Its not the best but it stays put quite well. The top of the tray is 3/4 in. with a routered edge with thick wooden legs that unfold in an "x" pattern ( typical tv tray set up ) hope this helps Speedracer P.S. WIll work for racing rig. HaHa
