I have been playing the game fine with my pc system but now when I end the game and try and reboot, windows xp sp2 won't reboot.
The computer tries to reboot but when windows starts, the screen stays black and the computer hangs. If I reset, it still won't work. There is no error message. I have to shut the computer off and restart by a cold boot with the power button. I have Ubisoft's SHIII and it works fine and other 3d games work fine, it's just Heroes of the Pacific that is a problem. I really like the game but I can't play it because it may corrupt windows and I may have to format my harddrive and reload windows. My system is: Abit AV8 mobo with the 939 socket AMD 64bit fx-53 cpu with 2G of DDR ram 3200 Realtech Audio97 with latest drivers ver 3.80 on-board sound. ATI Radeon X850 XE 250meg video card with driver version 5.11, brand new card and it's not overheating, I checked the temperature and it runs at 40- 45C, and the cpu is at 38-42C Do you think this is a driver issue with ATI or maybe the on-board sound driver is a problem. Do you think I have to install a sound card and disable the on-board sound. tks, Gman |

I have noticed mine sometimes takes longer to return to the desktop. A long game of Rise of Nations can do that too. I have an NVidia GEForce6800 video card but no sound card.
