Black screen

Hello all!

I tried looking for another thread like this but couldn't find one, anyway my problem is that when i start the game the game screen appears as normal but nothing appears in it. ive tried restarting the game several times but all the time its just black and nothing happens, and the only way for me to shut it down is to alt f4.

I run on 1gig ram and have radeon 9200 graphics card.

Check your graphics drivers and the ATI website and also goto Microsoft site and download the latest version dxwebsetup.exe and run it.

Check for any codecs that affect graphics. Overlord uses Radtools BINK video codec for video playback.

Also see if you have any odd runtime libraries installed. Try uninstalling and video players or programs you dont use and do some house cleaning on your system.

i got the same problem..

i got a new update of my vid card

i downloaded bink codec

its a clean pc

just a few days new format and new xp.

the dxsetup sais its okay or something

so i dont know anymore what i can do.

i even did the .exe thingy thats on the forum here somewhere.. about a problem

just in case..

is there anything else i forgot??

I had the exact same problem and I found the solution.
What I had done was placing a shortcut from the game folder to the vista games folder. This don't work and for some funny reason just gives you a black screen! What you have to do is copy a shortcut from the startmeny if you want to do that!

In other words, if you have this problem start the game from the windows start menu or use save & play on the configure form
