Lightbulb Overall game plot!

I see that the Dragon Vault is coming soon. Meaning new content and a red dragon to boot. What I personally would like is for Stormreach to have an overall plot or thin red line through the quests that you follow (and of course side quests).

I mean, I watch the Lost serie on telly and must admit that I like it even though the progress is not rapid in any way.

In the same way I would like DDO to hint at bigger things and we, the players, try to nest our way through whatever plot there is. The content upgrades along the way would then be for expanding on the overall story and getting us nearer to understanding and maybe eventually solving the mystery that is Stormreach.

You need to captivate the players to keep them hanging on, and I want not just a good story, I want a f#%¤ great one!

I would gladly pay the monthly fee for this. I mean, a book at the local bookstore costs more than 1 month of this game, so give me content and great stories and I will stick by you!

When starting the game I actually had to complete a quest to gain access to the Harbour and then again to gain access to the Marketplace, but once at the Marketplace there were no more such quests. Side quests should be for gaining money and eq, but the story/plot should evolve by doing the "main quests".

Anyway, that's it for me.

i think they might have an main storyline/plot just as its newly released they arent pushing the events too fast, seen in many other mmo's where they had an main storyline but it was "on hold" until they where really sure that it would work, and not cause massive login pounding/crashing/bugging before starting it up.

Otherwise i agree with you, a main storyline would be nice to the sub quests out there, so you know when your actually following the storyline or just doing an "extra" quest.

Totally agree this would really compliement the game. There are however problems...what happens when you come to the end of the quest line?

You would never truly get to the end of the quest line, beause then it would be end of story, but who says you couldn't eventually get to the end of the Stormreach quest and have to move to another city for instance. Just look at all the soaps on telly. They never end, so it shouldn't be too hard if they have good writers. They of course need really good writers and GM's but that shouldn't be hard now that they have the game/technology up and running... allthough improvements are called for

Or you could actually get to end of questline, just that they add another main plot or an continuation on it in an new expansion
easy fix ^^

Well, since the orignal poster has already brought up the TV series Lost... there's your answer!
