Default A possible option for Dragon Loot

Having read several of the official threads on the dragon loot, espcially the official answer to critisism and the detailed reasoning behind the mechanism it would appear that the developers have missed a trick thet was pointed out in another thread:

Why not have the dragon corpse lootable by everyone and they can take a choice of a dragon scale/tooth/claw/eye ..etc. This is bind on acquire but you need to acquire 4/6/9 however many to take to a specialist artisan who can make a specific item for the character. This way:

1) Everyone gets a part share in the reward
2) The raid must be completed multiple times to get an uber item
3) All items and collectable are bind on acquire and can't be sold

I would be interested to hear the official Turbine response to why this wasn't considered.

EDIT: as has been note in the other sections of the forum, getting a single scale would be 1/6 of the uber item, this would require the same number of dragon runs to obtain an uber item as the current 2 from 10 would on average.

It is a good idea Nathan, (I still like just the idea of a random allocation as well however) Sure, 10 people will not be happy at not getting loot but at least it will not create mistrust and fear and lack of PUG. That is the way to the Dark Side........

(at least I think it is, I have lost the map, maybe I have it upside down, should I have gone left?)

best option I can think of tbh. The idea that the group leader is in charge of who gets the loot is not the smartest idea ive ever heard and this way it still takes the same amount of time for everyone to get a share but this way everyone is guaranteed it.

Another option is to have the collectables redeemable for different levels of uber loot.

1 scale = +x fire resistant shield
2 scales = something better....
....
6 scales (max) = uber loot.

This way those of us who don't particularly care, or want to do the same thing 6 times, can still get a little something dragony.
