I know somewhere I read, eventually GM's (Game masters) Will arrive in Eberron at some point.
When they do, as we have all read threads about randomness, how about the GM's porting set groups of folks in to dungeons, just out the blue. Or dropping a horde of monsters, on the outskirts of the town. Perhaps a pre warning and only in the outer towns, due to smaller levels, and complaints about the unfairness of it all *g* We know eventually, things will get sorted and smoothed out, and bugs, and things will get fixed, but what about in the meantime, just something to tide everyone over, and give the role-players something to role-play and the hack and slash something to hit and the whole community's something to fight and share together. i hope yuor right that sounds like an an excellent idea, MMO's have been needing things like this forever, it always strikes me as crazy how game makers, making a social game, seem to ignore such a fantastic resource ie the players.

UO in its heyday was excellent for this kind of interaction within the game and its community. It seems to be very rare unfortunately now in most mmo's, automated quests replacing the 'need' for that kind of thing to a certain extent, just like robots replacing workers in a factory. EQ2 seems to have a nice amount of 'live events' and other smaller scale GM interaction. This kind of thing really makes a mmo, especially a mmorpg and it is a must for DDO in my opinion. I would hope that one day they will introduce volunteer programs such as existed in UO, the 'seer' program was especially useful.
