Smile A Big Question For Satine

I wish to ask a question that is on the tip of tongue of all people that play or ever played DDO

Almost everyone i know that left DDO had the same reason

1. no an open big outdoor space ,people could explore, travel, encounter monsters and also find quests and dungeons .. for Eberon is a whole world not just a city

2. Crafting and mining, everyone complained that there is nothing else to do when not questing.

So question is simple , are Devs planning to introduce those features in near/far future or ever

For everyone believes thtat those two things could bring DDO back on top

I am sure that everyone would appriciate some feedback on this matter.
Thanks a Lot

See, i play DDO because this is absent
I rather play a good quest i don't have to search for.

Well, that´s why it´s called "D&D Online:Stormreach" I´d guess.

Also it´s often quite risky, trying to speak on behalf of other on a forum.

DDO use instance instead of huge common map, and so, huge area would be useless since you would be in group of 6 maximum. and currently, the menechtarun desert really looks like to what you asked, huge, quest that you have to find by yourself, not simply a city.

it also mean endless grinding in hope to find the required material/ore... and i left regular MMO because of infinite grinding, brainless farming and so.
and since drop is already very very good, no need to craft. and anyway crafting would lead to the same and eternal problem : everybody equipped with the same stuff...
and you can bid or sale in auction house ^^

it is already in game or it will never be in game, because of the side effect that leads another people to leave. anyway, a game cannot fit to everyone and DDO is no exception.

on my own, i left other MMO because of :
- if you don't play 8-12 hours, no hope to gt another level, in DDO casual player can reach the top, and not in 8-12 years.
- if you are not full top gear, no hope to kill a rat of your level, in DDO a lvl12 can survive even in masterwork only stuff (harder but far from impossible, remember the nude run of stormcleave outpost).
- being full top gear if impossible or require endless night of mob grinding, in DDO the chest loot or quest reward is quite good and often enough, and anyway you can be rich easily.
- PvP, i don't appreciate to being PKed a 785 times by ultra uber high level guy bored of the game in 15 minutes while i'm trying to relax after a day of work..., in DDO there no PvP and it really fit me (and anyway it is senseless, cause the game is cooperative based, not PvP)
- Party, it is very easy to create/find a group to play, because of the PvE oriented game and it fit me again, and it is easy because people love each other because nobody murdered someone else (PvP).
- freedom, in many MMO, your toon cannot go across a small rock if it is not supposed to be that way... in DDO, you are free to perform almost any action (if you have the required jump, swim skill and more).

This has been THE most important reason I've been playing DDO, no travel time and no useless "exploring". Guess what the desert made me feel like.

I only have bad experiences with how a game goes when heavy on crafting. Suddenly you'll HAVE to craft to make money to even remotely be able to buy yourself something nice. Good for grinders, bad for everyone else.

I assume that would be those you know? It must also be you and those you know who came up with this marketing scheme? Going from the same inspirations, but from another real marketleader, they should introduce spaceships, a single server and vast number of planets and global economy, this would make a success too, just ask CCP.

you dont have to travel nither to craft , nor any other game force you to do so ,crafting was always optional and its makes game richer ,

so why wine and ruin the pleasure of those who love crafting and want to develop their characters on line in full , meaning having a house , their tradskill, making clothes , and feeling that character does have a virtual life

otherwise you might as well play doom, where all you do! is pick up the gun and run around the dungeoun killing monsters, you do also find better weapons you dont need to craft them. at least doom will cost you less

besides i want to see DDo here also in year time , ither with or without crafting and just few of you are not going to keep it running ,games needs people to survive,or it will end up just as did ac2

i was there seen it happen , and i do reconise the signs again

Good questions. Whilst I don't have details on the specifics of what's coming up in future updates, we must remember that almost anything is doable. As you mentioned, Eberron is a whole world and there is a ton of places and things to explore and visit.

With this in mind, it's important to remember that Turbine are ever-evolving the game and ever-expanding the limits. There's going to be lots lots more in the future and for certain this will include new zones, new cities, new races, new classes and new game systems.

Now the questions are; Which? What? Where? And When?

As far as immediate updates are concerned we should have some news for you about what's coming up in module 4 in the new year. I'll also see if I can get Turbine to commit to what might come further ahead in the future although I doubt that until anything is confirmed they'll want to say as you'll hold them ransom to it

It'd be lovely if the people from Turbine that are responsible for giving out information to the US forums about new stuff and such could post about the same things here, at the exact same time. (Translations can be added later, I want the info at the same time as the US gets it.)
