This is intended more as a discussion than a direct suggestion, do you folks think having a feat (Probably one use only) that gives you an extra slot for enhancements would be a nice addition?
I certainly think some classes could take advantage of it, such as the cleric or rogue in particular. Thoughts? |

At the moment enhancement slots are more valuable than feats, and they'll only grow in value as characters will gain more feats, but still have a static amount of enhancement slots. Perhaps increasing the enhancement slots as you level up? Ie 5 on lvl 10, 6 on lvl 20 or something...

Are you crazy!!!
Don't you think your toons are already overpowered? The only case I can support having more enhancements is for multi-classed because for the moment they are gimped in comparison with pure-class...

Mmmmhm, now this is an interesting suggestion!
One additional enhancement slot for every class additionally to the first, only useable for either enhancements of that class or a racial enhancement.

Considering I'd prefere no enhancements at all, getting more this way would certainly not fit my mindset
![]() As for an argument against it, well, my impression is people rarely take those feats which give you +2 to some skill, they're somewhat common to take in PnP, as +2 can mean something, but in DDO you have enhancements giving +5 or a lot more, meaning wasting a feat on something like +2 is mostly meaningless. Add to this the readily available +7 or more items, and those +2 feats are obsolete. Only normal exception to this rule is for getting better saving throws, and maybe a few multiclass rogues make good use of them. Now then, a new feat like the one you propose, let's see what it can give you. I'll do an example from my bard, using enhancements I'd like, but can't get due to the 4 slot limitation. - 40% better heals: Well, I'm not a healer, but this would still be quite a nice one. - +1 CHA: In my case meaning +1 DC to all spells and +1 all CHA based skills. Not a biggie but still at least two feats in one (Enchantment school + various skills). As you may have guessed, this is a human, so could be any stat I'd like. - 9 extra songs: Essentially double my level in amount of songs, for 1 feat. - +7 diplomacy and something else: You can only get +2 from a regular feat, this is 3.5 times better. So looking at how powerful enhancements are compared to feats, and me thinking players are already too powerful, I'd diffinately say this is a no go.

Ondal, please note that skill focus: UMD is a very popular feat choice for the face classes. same goes for Disable Device, Intimidate, and a few other builds.

I'm well aware of skill focus, hence why I specifically mention those +2 feats. Unfortunately there's no UMD enhancement for bards, but you can use the Diplomacy as example. At level 10 this give +7 (IIRC), still more than twice as good as Skill focus: Diplomacy. As I don't have a figther, I assume their intimidate enhancement goes to +7 too, but in any case, if it's higher than +3 it'd still beat the skill focus feat.
