Wink 10' pits with or without spikes

Having read on the announcements that anything fun from D&D can be included in DDO can i suggest the urgent inclusion of 10' x 10' covered pits? I have play PnP D&D for 25 years or so and can tell you that no self respecting dungeon is complete without at least one coverd pit! And I don't mean one that leads some where i just mean a 10' x 10' hole in the floor with spikes in the bottom for added nastiness, with all the chances of falling back into it as you climb out again!

Yep

This sounds like a positive step (pun), although there is at least one dungeon with a false floor, there should be more (and random not fixed position)

All at the bottom of the 10' pits next to the skeletons of their previous owners.

I know of at least 1 place with such a pit. Unfortunately the 2 times I was dragged through the dungeon there was no chance of it suprising me as it was pointed out prior to getting there.

Wink

Ah 10' poles *stares dreamily into space for a second*

You're right! How can DDO claim to be based on D&D when you can't buy a 10' pole anywhere?

I've also noticed that the mythical horse eating beast is strangely absent! you know the one that sits outside cave systems and dungeons waiting for the opportunity to eat all you horses just before you come running out of said cave system/dungeon being pursued by a mob of really nasty monsters that can run faster than any human/dwarf/elf, but not as fast as a horse!

Which reminds me, anyone know where i can buy a horse?

I always thought it was the Dwalf that sat and ate the horse while no one was watching.

I couldn't agree more with both of you! Maybe the randomn location idea for the pits would put the breaks on these parties a little! I can hear their squeals of protest now! "but that pit wasn't there this morning! It's sipposed to be round the corner and up the corridor a little! Not fair boohoo!"

Yeah the more i think about it the more i like it!

Of course I just thought that as you can't buy 50' of rope anywhere either 10' pits could prove really nasty, especially as there is no climb walls skill either
