**The Chronicle is looking for a new editor.
Someone with enthusiasm and can bring some style and opinion, making
this weekly round-up of news their own...

interested in taking up the challenge, even if you just wish to take

Sakura announced that character data transfer is not planned at all

Some much needed press hype in an article on the 30th June 2009:

MASSIVELY'S DDO Unlimited Developer Tour

Love can sometimes be a fickle thing, but I'm pretty sure that I love
what Turbine has done with the DDO Store in Dungeons and Dragons
Online Unlimited. I'll admit that initially I was a little concerned
with the concept of an in-game store, but after playing with it at bit
and asking some questions my fears have pretty much melted away.

DDO Europe servers crashed on 07/02/2009 around 20:30 (uk local time) for approx 4 hours.
This was due to a hardware fault.

LEEF – here’s their responses to the questionnaire:

What got you interested in MMO’s?
I started playing MMO's waaaay back when the internet was something
new. As a kid, one of the things that you could do was play a
graphical MUD. I've long forgotten what it was called. But I would
play for hours on end every night. This became a problem because back
then you paid by the minute for internet. My father wasn't too pleased
when he found that his monthly bill was 20 times higher than normal.
How long have you been playing DDO?
Since pre-launch and I have the UWA brooch clickie to prove it!

What is your most memorable encounter / experience from DDO?
VON 6 for the first time. I still think it's such a visually stunning
quest.

What is your favorite class too play and why?
Hmm. I like Bards a lot because they are so versatile. Great melee
ability, CC, songs and not to forget...HASTE! So I'll go with that.
But I have Rogue Repeater-build that is just so much fun to play.

Whats the funniest moment you have ever had playing DDO?
There have been so many that I have forgotten, but I'll have to say
that recently when a friend of mine rolled her G.I.M.P. toon I
couldn't stop laughing. You have to randomly roll 3 classes and she
rolled a Wizard/Barbarian/Sorcerer. I'm still laughing about that.
Thankfully she was human so she took Toughness three times. Hey, if
you're going to be gimped, you better be mean. I was lucky in
comparison with my Rogue/Ranger/Sorcerer.

What is your most favourite dungeon?
Hmm. There are so many of them. But judging on loot, aesthetics, XP,
balance and teamplay (things I like) I'll go for VON 5. Puzzles,
traps, teamplay, massive XP and followed by VON6 which is gorgeous and
has a few nice raid items.

What music do you listen to when playing DDO?
The dulcet tones of my friends chatting.

What is your preferred play style?
Tactical rushing. Very effictive and smoothe when running with
friends. Not so in PUGs.

What is your least favorite dungeon?
This is a very easy question for me. I absolutely loathe the entire
Catacomb series. Boring. Long. Low XP. And way to much up-and-down-
going-of-stairs. You spend more time running to the questgivers and
back to the instances then in the instances themselves!

What is your favorite DDO Monster?
Dragons. I'm old school.

What would you most like to see added/improved to DDO?
Druids :/ My favorite class. More raids and high end content would be
nice. ANY content actually. Enough with the frills. I want the meat.

What is your least favorite thing about DDO?
Catacombs. Easy.

Whats your most treasures piece of Loot?
Each character has his own treasured loot item. On Twee it's my Acid
Splash Wand for laughs. But on my tempest Ranger I got the VOD Goggles
(Tharne's I think it's called?) on his first visit. WOOT!!!!

Lastly what advice would you give to a newcomer to Stormreach?
Have fun! Put on your voicechat and join a party. It's not called a
party for nothin'!

Getting to know the guilds from both servers

This weeks Guild spotlight is the G.I.M.P guilds which are brought to
Europe from the US by Vistella. On Keeper SleepActive is running the
GIMP fun.

In short you roll a character with random 3 Classes- even the race
and sex is random. Then you join up with other GIMP's and play
untwinked, there are other rules to ensure GIMPiness. I've tried it
out and highly recommend giving it a shot. On Keeper it's on a Monday
night from 8pm (UK local time).
