Default Interesting Job Post

Hmm...

Here's the LINK to the Massively.com article.

Here's the
LINK to the job posting on Turbine's jobs portion of their site.

Interesting!

Yeah, I'm subscribed to your site, read it already . Pretty interesting, but without any details, it's hard to know what is it for. And if it's even intended for DDO PC.

Turbine is very secretive lately.

Wink

Knowledge of website analytics tools such as Google Analytics, including implementing tracking codes and providing insight into web traffic reports

If this isnt related to the microtransaction bit of the job ads, then id guess they may finally be doing some online PPC advertising for the their games.

Pity my experience doesnt match the "5" years experience, as id be the most excellent candidate! All you W/P rapiers are now belong to my REAL auction house.

5 years on the internet is like 15 years anywhere else. Its the internet, thats what happens when you let HR do job ads for IT.

Who the hell has miocrotranmsaction and eccomerce experience of 5 years - if you have been doing that succesfully for 5 years your a beeeelionarre by now.

I wonder if they will be willing to actually pay the 60k+ they would need to get someone with those qualifications or if they will end up just taking the 20k trainee dude out of college.

Ah but you see Mistgolem, these days if you've not already worked for free for at least two years somewhere then you're not qualified to do anything even remotely interesting...apparently. So they could take the 20k college grad, as long as he's been a slave before/during/after his course.

We live in interesting times.

I use the term interesting ironically

Yeah, that's why in some ways Terry Pratchett is a real world prophet .

Misgolem, if I were you, I'd give it a try . I'd love to see 'our man' doing job for Turbine, that would be outstanding. Additionally, sometimes the biggest mistake is not giving a try, because maybe you're the one they're looking for, but you'll never know.
Not everything must be exactly like they want, they're probably interested in your skills more than in your CV.

For what it is worth, one of the LoTRO devs frequents the EU forums and had this to say about it.

I think everyone in this thread that is distraught / angry / confused just needs to take a step back, and relax. Different transaction models are sometimes looked at to provide an alternative to the different type of gamers out there. I think our lifetime subscription was actually quite popular in Europe and in North America, but that sort of model would never work over in a place like Asia, where micro-transactions are the standard.

When people look at articles like this, you would think doomsday is coming and everyone should pack their bags and run.

Seriously people, we are not going to be selling the [sword of a thousand truths] for $50 that allows you to one shot all our or raid bosses, even if we decided to go with micro-transaction in the first place.

Remembering this thread is discussing an american company Elonderil it is unfair of you to use irony in your posts as this will only cause confusion and temper tantrums within turbines ranks....

Of course ironically enough I am in fact using irony to suggest that anyone from turbine will see your irony!

I would dare to say that this is for LotRO as it's the type of game that has the items that could be used in a "item mall".
