Xbox360 Ranks reset after Patch/Update

I just got Elite a day or two ago; 700+ OXP to go to get to Legend. And now....

I'm not one to go into full-on 'flame-mode', but this is UN-F!@#$%^-believable!!!!

Resetting the leaderboards was a no-brainer; the players that are capable of consistently posting legitimately great times will be able to do so again. But resetting the Ranks?!?!?!?! Yes, some players have probably gotten Elite and/or Legend with the help of the brown screen glitch and other glitches, but some people, like myself, worked REALLY Hard to get the Rank we HAD.

And its not like an 'illegitimately Achieved' Rank of Elite and/or Legend is unfair to other players, like the laptimes issue. Rank doesn't necessarily equate with skill; you could finish dead-last in every race you run and still get Elite/ Legend, eventually.

I can take some Small solace in the fact that I just barely squeezed out Elite before 'Zero-Day'. Players who were on the verge of getting Elite/ Legend REALLY got screwed!

I think we're all Entitled to an explanation from CM. I don't expect there to be another patch/ update; I suppose it possible, but not plausible. Regardless, we should be told what the H!@@ happened?!?!?!?! If this was an unintentional result of the patch, then I'd say Codemasters needs to consider a name change. If was INTENTIONAL.... well, I'll probably continue to be a fan of the game, and subsequent releases, (it IS a great game) but I'll be waiting on USED copies dropping to around $20 before I buy a follow-up/ sequel. The pre and post-patch issues are NOT encouraging me to support Codemasters with a new game purchase.

The reason for the Reset was most likely because people have gained ranks through Lag and Brown Screen ...

The only way around that was to reset all the boards ...

The only thing that concerns me is that the players that "Cut" will still be able to cut ...

If that's the case, it's a drastic measure; not to mention an incredibly unfair one to players who didn't have those issues.

I have retired this game now - after the patch all I needed was the legend rank & drive all cars.

I have the drive all achiev now but i'm not going to start from the bottom again I just can't be arsed!!

god, as everyone is just driving for those fracking archievements. let me tell you, you are playing the game for the wrong reasons. its for the fun, the challange, the fracking gaming experience not for a rank or archievements. its not like youre a better beeing with a higher rank or higher archievement points.

at 1st i was ****ed a bit, cuz i was 100 pts away from elite but now idc, ill just do it again and ill have a high race total b 4 i get to legend.

I play for fun & to compete - BUT... achievements are a big part of gaming on the xbox & it is rewarding to get them when you play well & with determination to earn them legitimately.

I don't have a high gamerscore & that does not matter to me - I only go after achievements for games I enjoy playing.

Sub goals//part of what keeps the game alive//Longevity

Fact of the matter is... as good a game Grid is & as much as I have enjoyed playing it - sadly it hasn’t got to legs to keep me playing it .. due to it's faults! to take the hard earned work away from obtaining achievs aswell is a major slap in the face.

Don't pigeon hole my comments - they are not my only reason for gaming but my points are valid & achievements are an integral part of xbox gaming.

Well your lucky. I woke up yesterday and all the information on my 360 hard drive was corrupted and Microsoft said I had to delete EVERYTHING. So now I have no saved game info for any of my games which really sucks. If you have ever played forza before you know how hard it is to go up the ranks

Oh and I spent all day yesterday downloading everything I had gathered over the last 2 years

No. The achievements are there to be earned. Some people like the sense of these because it gives them reason to play all the various different parts of a game. The achievements play an important role in a game.

As I said in my original post, resetting the LEADERBOARDS is absolutely legitimate/ kosher; its a matter of fairness to other players. Resetting the RANKS has NOTHING to do with fairness for all players.

As for Achievements- thats off-topic; even if there wasn't an Achievement popping up for reaching a certain Rank, its STILL a matter of aLot of time/ effort/ patience for putting up with pinballin' A.H.s to 'achieve' a high rank. And those efforts have been wiped out?!?!?!?! I'm looking to hear from CM on What The F!@# happened?!?!?!?!

Please. An official comment re: reset Rank is necessary. Thanks.
