13/10 - GRID PC 1.3 Patch Now Available

I think the reason most aren't playing isn't because of the patch. It's because they
can no longer cheat up their cars and aren't winning anymore. Seriously....racing
1.3 has been an eyeopener. Guys who used to win regularly aren't even close. What's up with that??

It's pretty common that only tiny minority of players in any game are active as in actively monitoring news, patches, forums etc. Those are unlikely to be even AWARE there's such a thing as 1.3 patch. Afterall game itself doesn't point out so finding out about it requires one thing: monitoring CM's web page.

I can virtually quarantee that majority of players aren't doing that so chances of them even being AWARE of the patch is pretty slim. For example I only found out about that when I found this forum and got interested in the private group...

No wonder there's still more drivers driving 1.0 than 1.3. And most aren't cheaters(or how come they aren't ever even near winning...?).

CM really should have done the obvious and put automatic installer into the game. That should be standard feature of ANY game these days. Requiring players to manually find out about update and install it is just dumb. Especially if versions aren't compatible between each other.

I would love to be able to play - but since 1.3 my PC really is not happy with the game.

The graphics are corrupt and the game crashes out most times. I have re-installed it, patched it, slapped it, kissed it and even tried making love to it - but the biatch still wont work properly.

markopoloman, I'm curious what Windows you are using?

Have you tried the v1.3 noDVD exe to see if make a different?

Hi Purple - using Vista Ultimate.

The annoying thing is, I have been playing this since day one without problem - then BANG! 1.3

I am using the noCD patch now - but it does the same.

If it was an error with the PC, then other games would do the same. It is only Grid.

Using all the up to date drivers etc.

Very annoyed as I am missing this game ;(

I have Vista Home Premium 64bit, so it not a Win 7 problem.

Only things I can suggest is try the -novirtual. But this usually a fix if GRID don't start.

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\GRID\GRID.exe" -novirtual

And try a low resolution and low graphic settings ( no AA ) and see if GRID will run better, then if GRID run better, work your way up to better settings.
