If the physics engine is going to be in any way realistic the cars must have the ability to lift off the track. There is no need for crazy helicoptering but there is also no need for sticking them to the road completely.

CM have shown with games like Dirt and Grid that they can achieve great damage and physics. However, this is Bernie's call and in my opinion we could be well screwed. He doesn't give a damn about what gamers want. He cares about making money and he has the power to control what way his franchise is being portrayed. Hopefully something can be worked out. But if cars can't lift I will be so disappointed. I have been waiting literally all my gaming life for an F1 game that has accurate damage and physics. I thought this one might be the one but obviously it's looking less likely now

EDIT:
Just came across these pics from a F3 race in 1997. It's safe to say sometimes single seaters get airborne

yeah it was fatal. He died instantly. It was obviously a one off freak accident.
The thing is if something that crazy happened in the game you would probably have really badly damaged car that can move a bit afterwards.

I don't think they are going to make this game like flatout where drivers can fly out of the car lol

It is just a game like. But yeah obviously save that stuff for gta or whatever.. this is a sim.. i am very curious as to what will happen if two cars come together at 200mph nose to nose.. if one isn't launched in some shape or form it wont make sense.. I really am afraid it could end up being like magnets stuck to the track

if you drove head on into a car in f1 ce ( it had to be fast because you would get DQ if you drove backwards for 5 seconds) they would stop dead and maybe spin 10 metres, not realistic

i must agree with you on this one. this is f1 game sim not a crash derby. i do like the fact that if you come in contact with other car you will endure some kind if the damage. and i think we all hope for it for obvious reasons, to be a better driver avoid crashes to get to the finish line. but if they happen i want to make sure there is a relevance between the force of a collision (broken end plate on the wing, tire puncture) and the result of the crash. lets mimic the real cars their durability and weakness.

go robert go
