I know that one of the things F&F testers got them to fix was the FX, like bullets and explosions and stuff, the art might take time to create, art assets are not like code, it can take time to get art to look right and fit the game correctly.

I dont mind delays as long as I know why it's being delayed.

Lets face it if I didnt think JGE was worth waiting for, I would not still be here.

So we wait in anticipation for the JGE experience. But this game being worth waiting around for? Who knows . We have nothing to go on. But hell we can hope right?

I admire your faith Dvalon in sticking around.

I feel compelled to disagree.

The official 'Enter The Fray' video on the JGE website still incorrectly states June 2009 ...(half way down http://eu.jumpgateevolution.com/videos.php), with copies of that vid elsewhere on the web too.

Without an official updated guestimation of a release date (be it a month, or year quarter). Anyone finding JGE for the first time could easily form the impression that development has ceased. (from seeing that vid, or reading old articles where June '09 was mentioned)

A date has already been published, and has already been missed. I thought it was surprising there wasn't an updated guestimate issued at the time. But with the missed date still in the public domain, and without any update pointing towards a release, it can only lower expectations that the game is likely to released at all !

if JGE wants to join the world of MMO's , it shouldn't be worried about putting a stated release date back every now any again, just like every other MMO has before it. (the only exception being games expanding to new regions, like Aion etc)

IMHO: A game without even a provisional release date isn't in a position to be capable of gaining new interest. ND should at least give JGE a prospect of Life !

I am like most here. I don't mind waiting myself. It will take as long as it takes, so long as the game is working and with minor flaws (I doubt anybody could produce that perfect non-bugged game) then its been time well spent. Just give us something to keep us going. Keep the forums alive as well as peoples interest.

And how about updating your own website with the blogs and such so people can see your doing something.

As you might of missed the announcement: http://community.codemasters.com/for...33#post5243633

That is papa Scorch addressing the community just before June about the delay in release date and explaining the situation.

And to quote Dvalons reaction...

About JGE

Summary of impressions in the last year: Han solo, 180 spinning, death star, internal environment open space, epix raiding boss content loot drops, no loss epic consensual large scale combat, sector claiming faction conflict focus with optional isolated game direction to preference, long term econ gameplay where you wait for content patches or leave and come back later.

So, it's 'something' at least.

Just to quote 2 points from Scorch's post:

Quote:
One of the things we’ve always promised is that we would not release an unfinished product, nor would we subject players to a sub-par experience.
Something I wholeheartedly appreciate!

With that, let me be up front about the current state of the game from where we stand.
And here's the problem. We (and I'm pretty sure I'm not only speaking for myself here) want more information about the current state of the game. Some of us (me included) almost feel like 'fathers-to-be', even though (or probably because) we're not involved in the development process. Is this too hard to understand?

Is it so difficult just to let the community have even a little update on anything behind the scenes? I for one would love to hear a guess like "Beta Possible Q2 2010" I don't visit the site much anymore, coz nothing is happening. The odd screenie on mmorpg.com and thats it. Any info for us would be better than none.
