i thought i will never write this, but after playing for some time on US servers and reading infos concerning DDO:Stromreach in EU i decided to leave this great game.

(for those who would like to get my items - no, you cant have them, i dont delete my toons, just yet and those items are not that worthy )

reasons why i leave - not promoting non-Codemasters product at all!!

differencies between US and EU servers are HUGE. people here, are nice, polite, very friendly, i am in one of the best guilds there - The Companions!
on US, i met very few friendly players. mostly, they are not replying to /tells, dont ever send tell why they dont want me in party, AH prices are ridiculous, even for low level items, on quests they dont listen to what you write, mostly they rush and so on.

on the other hand i met there some old players from Kepper and have there many friends from Czech rep.

in EU we pay and play, on US we can play and pay just for what we want. we can pay even for many items in DDO Store, which is realy cool addition to the game, even as VIPs. very nice help for solo players, very nice for very very very casual players. i did buy for a few Turbine points all 6 +2 Tomes for my char. can i get it on EU servers?? yes, for bazilions of golds on AH or grinding same quests again. no thank you.

i have been playing DDO from the begining very often. but for last 12 months, i paid 1 month subs once in a while, say 1x in every 2-3 months. last several months i have active subs, i played first 10 days and then just creep in just to say hello to guildies and check whats new. but still - i was billed..

on US servers i can log in anytime without the worries that i will play just those first 10 days of 1 month subs and do something else in the rest of the month, because i was bored again or something like that..

which reminds me - it can be hard to get party for Mod8 quests or older nowdays, here in EU. not so in the US servers. anything i want to do i will in just a few minutes or even seconds! put up LFM and the party is full in a blink of an eye. sometimes even, i think about some not so good/enjoyable quest which i need for completion/favor and it happens to be in LFM screen. very easy to do this and that..

i quite understand why we still pay for DDO, here in Europe. why we have DDO: Stormreach and not the new DDO: Eberron Unlimited.
but i realy DON'T understand why we cant get DDO Store. we get new mods/updates/whatever. is it so hard to put in DDO Store?? - problem with money transfer?? to whom, how much or what??

now i dont know whats the real problem between Atari/Turbine/Codemasters is. i always thought that Atari was publisher in both EU and US (all around the world..) for D&D brand computer/console games. now that Turbine operates DDO in US, whats the problem with EU?? Atari?? come on..

Good luck. I'm also starting out in the US as well (on Thelanis). I've actually spent a
pretty penny though as I don't want to be a subscriber (I just don't play enough).
Currently enjoying my 32 point Favoured Soul without the favour grind!

As other threads have alluded to, the development of the game now has the shop as an
intrinsic part. It's really getting tough without it. My hope would be to port keeper and
devourer into one US based server as I really like my characters on keeper.

Agree with everything you have said about the US, Buggles II is up to level 5, its nice to log in for an occasional dungeon bash for free. I hope they sort out the EU game soon because I'd rather play with my characters here - sadly I came back for the free week and the population and grouping issues are as bad as ever. F2P is a decent enough holding position until things settle down.
