Beware of where you buy your downloaded version of games like GRID if they need a patch later!

We have a new patch out for GRID and some have had to wait over a week to get the v1.3 patch for GRID.

The PC guys with the retail DVD version of GRID got the v1.3 patch first last week and Steam and Direct2drive got the v1.3 patch this week. But the guys that downloaded GRID from Gamesplanet/Metaboli sites, there no v1.3 patch yet to download. And good luck in finding a link to any patch at Gamesplanet/Metaboli sites.

But I did find this one link that RFT posted for the v1.2 patch for Gamesplanet/Metaboli:

I would think if v1.3 patch is posted, it will be listed on the same page as v1.2 patch.

For guys like HWU-phill971, they will have to play the waiting game and hope the v1.3 patch show up this next week ( might want to contact gamesplanet and see what the holdup is ) or go back up their GRID folder and savegame folder and then install the retail DVD version of GRID v1.3 patch and then get their hand on the v1.3 noDVD .exe for a temporary fix until the v1.3 patch is available.

This is faintly ridiculous; it's *still* not available for gamesplanet (metaboli) customers.

I must re-iterate once again that I purchased this seemingly at codemasters recommendation from the main game website for a princely sum of £39.99

Surely we should get the same update within a few weeks of everyone else?

It is the same game and cost the same (if not more) than retail - you should get an update the same bloody day.

That sucks I suggest you contact Codemasters ASAP and keep bugging them till they release the patch!

Maybe CM don't actually like companies like Metaboli ?

I am assuming you bought a download game so therefore have to wait for them to provide a patch ?
I'm also assuming you bought a console game because the most you would have paid for a PC one would have been £24.99 . . .but at £39.99 wouldn't it have been better to get a hard copy ?

iErasmus47, when GRID came out, Codemasters offer a download version of GRID through Metaboli\gamesplanet. I don't understand why Codemasters has not made sure Metaboli\gamesplanet has the v1.3 patch by now!!

This make Codemasters look bad when their recommend download site for Codemasters games is way late in releasing patches for Codemasters games.

And I would imagine the PC version of DIRT 2 will be available for download at Metaboli\gamesplanet, too. Buyer beware!

I did not know that. Learn something new everyday. I prefer DVD rather than downloading it.

It been over 3 weeks now and gamesplanet still has not posted the v1.3 patch for GRID here at this link:

So I sent an email asking why! support@gamesplanet.com

Anybody reading this post and has check the link above and there no v1.3 patch, please send off an email to gamesplanet and ask them why there no v1.3 patch. ( who knows, it might be there tomorrow )

Better to loose with honor then win in shame Swap Intel Dual core 6400 for a quad 6600, 6GB ram, swap out the 2 8800GTS 320MB for a 4870 1GB, X-Fi sound card, MOMO and Vista 64-bit SP1.
