What will happen to those not on this forum who have purchased the game already? Will they be contacted and informed?

I wish they would say for sure if the wrong file was posted and it is just a matter of getting the correct one released or if this was indeed the correct file and these bugs were missed. It would seem the second is going to take a lot longer to resolve than the first.

Guess I should have downloaded the game before work - at least I could be playing offline between crashes.

Well, to me this just beggars belief.

I run a big website that is devoted to running competitions and leagues over Xbox Live. Unfortunately, I am already more than familiar with Codemasters appalling PR department.

But speaking with my webmasters hat on - the contempt with which publishers these days treat the paying public just beggars belief. First Konami with the debacle of Pro Evo, and now this. It hits our website hard - our members our getting disillusioned with football on the 360 full stop. We used to have 50+ members in our pro evo league for 2006 version, from all over the globe. We are down to only thirty for this version and half of those are talking about ditching the game.

SWOS was going to be the game that revitalises our site for football (other genres are going strong). Now because of this ridiculous situation our members are talking about not purchasing - and to be quite frank I don't blame them.

It has happened with so many games that they are just borked - Mad Tracks being an example. Ok so Codies are going to fix this but when? If it REALLY was the wrong version then just upload the correct version. How hard can it be? If I was really cynical, I could say that Codies have "done a Konami" otherwise known as releasing a knackered game so they can profit from it. Only this time, the outcry was so great they had to pull it.

As a gamer who forks out his hard-earned I am heartily sick of these situations. These are meant to be professional people. I don't see much profesionalism in todays events.

Fair point.

I doubt that Codemasters would release this game knowing that such an issue existed!

My thoughts are that SWOS will concrete itself with 360 fans 'soon'.

surely if it was just an old build that was made available it wouldnt have taken this long to put the new build up?

I'm now hoping that it's the wrong build and they're trying to fast-track the correct one through MS red tape.

The absence of the commentary from the PC version (which was meant to be in, right?) and presence of several other large bugs would also support to the 'wrong build' theory

Can you not just leave the "broken" build up so people can at least play it, just add some sort of disclaimer about the online play issues :undecide:

MS will never allow that. The broken version hasn't been certified, which means it could do anything from fecking up systems to posing a security threat. That's why they were so qucik to tell people to delete it. Someone with the skills could potentially find a way to mod their 360 w/o opening it.

We Should All Be Happy That We Have Actually Got The Game Although Not Complete And No Online Play At The Mo . Think Of Those Poor Gits Getting Home From Work Now And Wont Be Able To Download Any Of It
