Yes indeed. I had at one stage disk 1 of 95/96 and disk 2 of 96/97, and it played as the 95/96 version, so all the game code must have been on that first disk. All these years I've been thinking 95/96 and 96/97 were the same except for updated stats!

...Okay, Disk 1 has the main SWOS "executable", the "Goal Scoring Superstar Hero" song, some pitch and loading graphics, but no data. Disk 2 has all the team/player data, menu music, the in-game chants and sound effects, and menu/pitch graphics.

...just to clear things up

I was one of the lucky people who actually managed to get the game before it went offline and have been playing it since, I have noticed the following problems with the 'premature ejaculation version' some of which im sure will have been already mentioned.

1, The score box stays up for too long on the restart, you have to play blind for a couple of seconds (a couple of seconds is a long time in this game)

2, The 'red B' button on my controller is the universal 'back' button but has been assigned to 'action replay' -no problem at first- but when you make a substitution the natural reaction is to press 'B' to get back to the game, when you do however you get an action replay of the bench.....

3, I sold a player but still had him in my squad

4, I bought a black Nigerian player who turned white but in turn made one of my white defenders turn black?!!?? eh???

5, Swirly face pedos? - NOT ACCEPTABLE
Swirly face goals - AGAIN NOT ACCEPTABLE

I completely agree! These bugs need to be corrected - even those that aren't real bug. It's sooooo annoying that the programmers decided to keep the score for so long. My friends and I played SWOS for 18 hours yesterday and we kept on getting frustrated by the fact that you couldn't see 1/3 of the field for several seconds after the ball went into play. The worst thing was the corners in classic mode. The score stays so long that you can't see anything in front of the goal. We had several situations yesterday where this bug alone was the deciding factor in the game - that's not acceptable!

And those swirly effects.... what are Codies thinking? No one in the entire world likes them and no one ever will, they're terrible - remove them!

Now let's see if Codies understand the importance of edited tactics... I have zero faith in Codies, but I sooo hope that they've realized the fact that edited tactics mean everything. You need to be able to transport your tactics everywhere, share them and play with them in every match you play, online or offline, at your home or at your friend's. It's absolutely crucial!

There are swirly faced pedophiles in the game? No wonder they pulled it!
