Default Do you like being a drow ?

I have been in groups with nothing but drow for the last 2 weeks its very rare that I see anyother race running around. I'm fully aware that they are the new kids on the block and offermany advantidges but im really starting to dislke seeing them now its a purple and grey army running around. I havent seen a new elf for over a month now and then theres the lesser spoted halfling I feel like setting up a mini game called twiching for ebberon races you get points for how many of the other races you see around bellow lvl 5

Drow 0 points as commen as a j bird
dwarf 1 point stout creature often seen hold a large axe.
human 2 points a versitle beast
halfling 3 points small and easy to miss (pune intended)
elf 4 points A once comen creature now sadly in decline
warforged 10 points very rare creature may be in need of a captive breading program.

To be frank for a moment I think they made it to easy to be a drow 400 points was to easy to achive its should have been more probably over a 1000.

I know that my white haired grey skined wizzard could and does out class the human that he replaced but I don't like him I just can't get a feel for him mabe it's the rp freak in me that says you know he should be human you know where you stand with him what he thinks and belives in. but the power gamer in me bitch slaps the rp guy and says shut up and lets go pwn giants for the leet lewt.

so do u like being a drow?
power gamers and rp welcome.
p.s my twicth total for yesterday was 40 saw 2 wf

Do I like being a drow? Well from a build point of view if made sense for my figher8/pala2 to be a drow. But that and my now defunct rogue are the only two drow chars I have. My human cleric and bard still see plenty of play time and have both taken down Velah 4/5 times in the last two weeks combined so they still get plenty of play time.

I don't see drows being the be all and end all. Better for some builds less so for others. It's just a phase .

I have a drow wizard, I couldn't resist making him, as my human wizard is capped. When my drow wiz got to 10th (not actually capped), I rolled up various other classes, as drow. I have since deleted most of them and have started a human fighter and rogue. I'll probably keep my drow cleric, but to be frank, I don't like drow. Yes the have better stats, yes they have SR, yes they look nice after getting used to seeing all the other races for so long. I don't think they are so much more powerful than other races that their power attracts me atm. So if you see a new human rogue running about, it is not always because someone is new and cannot make drow yet.

I started playing Basic D&D and then Advanced. It seemed to me that the drow were specifically made to provide a challenge to pc's. They used to have items which stopped working if you took them out of the underground enviroment, so while they all had at least +2 equipment, it didn't leave the pc's with stacks of items. I hated Drow. Anyone remember "Queen of the Demon Web Pits"? Those drow with energy drain lances? Those wands of glue balls (I forget their name). I never, ever, wanted to play a drow. They were to be exterminated as the evil, plotting, elf hating scum that they are.

As to their power, does anyone know what the higher lvl enhancements are going to be like? Will a 20th lvl human rogue have Human Versatility VIII? If yes, then I suspect only human rogues will be playable at very high lvls (at least in elite quests - a 20th lvl elite trap anyone?). So I feel sure that drow will be out of fashion soon enough. Time will show us how feeble and narrow-minded they are.

However, I should warn you that making new warforced is banned by treaty after the Last War, and if you continue this policy of creating more, I shall feel compelled to report you to the relevant authorities! ; )

So, I do agree that drow are a plague, a problem. But not that your human is out classed. I wouldn't object to being called a power gamer, yet I insist that drow are not the best race, and this will become more obvious over time. Lets hear it for humans.

They do potentially provide some role-playing options. But as no-one has agreed with me that we should be banding together to try and over throw the coin lords, I doubt many drow will agree to band together to drive out the humans, etc, from there ancestoral homelands.

Default Drow, pah.

I know I know. I'm wrong in the head. I've got a Drow character, but I got her to level 3 and just went back to playing my Warforged.

I think the problem is that because Drow are so hard compared to other races I don't feel that they rate in terms of feeling. And they all look alike. When you think of the customisation available for humans males, drow just don't compare.

What I'm saying is, though their stat block rocks Drow just aren't cool enough.

Again with the Greyhawk / Forgotten Realms Drow imagery

I have 2 problems with Drow:

a - whoever invented the Eberron setting should never have used the term Drow to describe his splinter race, as it is confusing and waters down decades of AD&D tradition (Drizzt was bad enough thank you...). I particularly hate the phrase "Drow Elf" - they are either Drow or Dark Elves, not Drow Elves thank you very much!

b - they have better ability scores than other races. As said above, it doesn't *necessarily* follow that they are better, but it's a draw I for one couldn't resist.

I'm really enjoying my one Drow character, who currently shares 50% of my time with my Elf Rogue. The appeal for me was being able to play more class variations - the extra 2 ability points are great for multi-classing fans as you can achieve two 18s without having a mass of 8s and 6s - and DDO requires 20+ ability scores at the top level.

The Drow Paladin feels a bit strange, but the Bard is fully ok. I can't agree that all Drow look the same, since my Bard often gets compliments for her look. In the end, i don't mind too much about the race, i don't really identify with my characters, i see myself more as their controller. You can now speculate why i play only female chars

My Drow wizzie is ok, not my favorite character, but close to my most powerful character. Nearly 400 sp at level 3.

Love my drow fighter. Works very well. Would love to team with more race versatility, though, especially at low levels. At level 8-10, everything is fine, drow aren't the dominant race there.

If I like my Drow? Sure, i do, as I like all my other Characters. Just recently I have made two WF Chars and have lot of fun with them. I have played all classes and all races and I like them all, I do not have a favorite Race, they all are interesting in a kind of way.
