Inspired by Mulligan's roleplaying thread I was wondering if we could use the old JGC RPG Materials found at eg. Q.E.S.T, jgrp.net or myrotacol?
I know how I would play a JGC Quantar pilot but actually I don't have any hints how to develop a JGE character. Perhaps I'm just plain studid, but I don't find any background information on the Quantar Paths. Can we (as forum users and/or beta testers) develop them? What does Quantar look like now? As far as I understand a lot of Quantar people died during The Shift or were left behind -- do we (or the followers of a special Path) plan to return to our true home, to the stars that our legends tell us about and under which our champions fought? Do we still believe in Hamalzah? Are there followers of Horridahl? What is the Skein for us? Do we travel the Skein and believe that some day we will find Hamalzah's heavenly temple? Do we search for the voice of Hamalzah within the Skein? What has been done after the Shift? I can see the how the crippeld ships of the various sqads where limping to the station, being patched up and lauchend again, looking for other pilots. I see the grief in the pilot's faces when they see the many wrecks that did not survive The Shift. The horror when they realise that the proud and prosperous planets of Perasca and Kapenja aren't there anymore. How the pilots none the less manned their vessels to defend Quantar -- Squalls and Simooms swarming out to explore the unkown voids, Monsoons, Tornados, Typhoons and Tempests ready to the defend Quantar against everything that the filthy heathens and foul Horridahl throws against us. The Khamsins and Harmattan mining the ores, the fleets of Chinooks and Thunders transporting the much needed goods, the many new pilots with their Storms and Breezes swarming around bringing long awaited information and news to the scatterd command posts. But what has been done since then?

There is very little information on any of the factions at the moment. Fingers crossed, with this move to the new community site we'll see something new very soon. I've been baiting Awen for information on the Paths for months and her last comment, in IRC last week was "You're going to love what Keith has written for the Quantar, Mulli." She's cruel like that
![]() I recently restored my old backup of JGRP.NET and I'm going through the old archives at the moment, trying to work out what might be pertinent to Jumpgate Evolution but, a lot of it is dependent on the new lore so I'm hesitant to do an awful lot. Time will tell what might be "usable", I guess. I've already posted a few things at Jumpgate Community but they're very much open to change.

Hi brothers,
I don't think I've been this excited about a game since God knows when. any idea if any of the JGC space stations will be in JGE, I'd love to see Tripoint and Corridor on the game. EDIT: sorry I meant "since Hamalzah knows when."

As to the other thing, who knows? Problem is, we aren't getting any RP information beyond promises to Mull that he's going to love it. Why the Smurfs are getting background information first I'll never know, they're as boring as... well, Sols

Where does the rumour come from that the Quantar doesn't believe in Hamalzah anymore?
Granted, there was a huge change with great many casualties and a time of political upset. But given that the Quantar were very spiritual, I can't imagine that even such a great catatastrophe would completly destroy the old religion or the old rituals. Given that we The Shift was 99 years ago, and the pilots are in their mid-twenties we are the second or third generation after The Shift. Is this short time enough to wipe out the old believes? To me, this does not sound plausible.

Belief in Hamlazah will not have died out, but now we have The Skein and The Quantar Paths and the backstory such as it is, makes no mention of Hamalzah.
