Default Subaru Mod "CMR2/4 Style"

After big disappointment about the handling, i finally couldn't resist, and have reinstalled my cmr dirt copy.

Due to the open structure of dirt (BIG Thank's to Codemasters), i was trying to change the handling of the car(s).

I think the Subaru is a very popular car, so i have picked this one to make some changes.

This "mod" is not a simple tyre grip edit, the tyre grip is only a part of it.

I have also edit the car csv files. (n12.csv & n12_backup.csv = Subaru)

After two night's of testing, over and over again, here is the result.

I would describe the steering and drift behaviour as a mix of CMR2/4.

But try it for yourself. I suggest a run at pikes peak!

And don't forget to use the brake tweaker from Codemasters. (0% pro sim)

1.Overwrite the n12.csv AND the n12_backup.csv in Codemasters\Dirt\cars\n12, it is important to overwrite the n12_backup.csv with the new file, because if you doesn't, the break tweaker try's to load the original backup and the mod takes no effect!

2.Overwrite the tyreGrip.csv in Codemasters\Dirt\cars

3.Add the Folder n12VehicleSetup2 to your savegame folder, and don't forget to load the car setup for the Subaru (it is named "subaru mod n12")

That's all.

All needed files in one zip (rar) 3KB :

http://rapidshare.com/files/38805548...d_n12.zip.html

or:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0IYEV6ZF

This Mod takes only affect on the Subaru! (for now)

Please make a backup of your original csv files, if you wan't to restore

sorry for my bad english

Hi Killer-Carrot!

Nice to hear, you like it! Yes powersliding is no problem anymore. And you can control it with the throttle.

As for the setup file, i couldn't test, if it work's with other installations than my own.

But that is no problem, the mod works 100%

And as you sad already, you feel the difference with the default setup too.

I think a good setup can find anyone by themself. You have to adjust the gear ratio, the downforce, and the springs to your like.

I wouldn't touch the other parameters, because they are changed in the csv files. But if you like to adjust them too, you can do it for sure.

If you like the cars a bit less drifting, only replace the car csv files and let the tyre grip file untouched.

You will still feel the new handling.

Here are the changed car files for the Mitsubishi Lancer and the Peugeot 307.
Overwrite the me9.csv and me9_backup.csv (Mitsubishi) in Codemasters\Dirt\cars\me9

Mitsubishi

Overwrite the 307.csv and 307_backup.csv (Peuget 307) in Codemasters\Dirt\cars\307

Peugeot

Before replacing the files make a backup for restore.

I have updated the Subaru Impreza files. (some small changes and better gear ratio)

Do not install the tyreGrip.csv anymore, it is not necessary with this new car files. Same with the Peugeot 307 and Mitsubishi Lancer.

Only replace the "xxx.csv" and "xxx_backup.csv" car files!

First off thanks for putting in the time to tweak DiRT. It needs it really.

I want to try your mod but have a question before I install. Do I need to install "tyreGrip.csv" ? I haven't installed the mod yet. So Is the file "tyreGrip.csv" needed from the first version of your mod?

Hope I'm clear enough about this.

Thanks again for your time and effort!!!

Hi Pittbull,

no, you don't need the tyreGrip.csv anymore. Use the original tyreGrip file.
Replace only the modded car.csv files, and load the updated subaru files.
The Peugeot and Mitsubishi files are already tweaked, for use without the changed tyreGrip.csv.

I have forgotten one important thing.
After replacing the csv files, you must set the differential options like these:

At default all parameters are zero!

With all three cars in the mod? If so , does this mean we cant tweak these values in any way?

@Pittbull

This is a misunderstanding.

You have to replace all three car mod's in the specific car folder. It is not one mod for all three car's.

Simply overwrite the Subaru files in cars\n12, Peugeot in cars\307, Mitsubishi in cars\me9. That's it.

Use the ORIGINAL tyreGrip file with these modifications.
