Question Changing partical levels for dust

Anyone know where the files that control the partical levels are? (post process folder maybe??) So that we can increase or decrease the size of the dust plume's from behind vehicles on dirt roads.

my guess its its in the effects folder

there is a "kickup_xxx.xml" , in there seems to be the dust parameters..

spawn rate etc.. etc..

i would just start fiddling around in there (remember to backup your files)

i started to play with it, and you can indeed change the dust.. although i wasn't getting the effects i wanted..

it seems in the file you designate the size of the bounding box (the box the effect will be in)..

but then on each map, there is a modification when it make sthe "kickup" function call for dust..

so the kickup files seem to be the base values, then within each map it can be augmented from this base value..

and that is really as far as i got.. i haven't really been able to produce the dust even as good as CMR05 (but then again i may have to work on graphic settings at the same time)..

I really hope you can figure out the system. The game would look SO much better with BIG DUST CLOUDS behind my car, like it happens in real life.

It actually kills immersion a bit to have dust clouds that go away in one second. Kind of ironic since, well, the game is called DIRT!!!

Yeah, MOOOORE dust... Like CMR 2005!!!

The dust on my colin dirt is colored black...???
How is it to you? Did anybody have the same effect?

In CMR05 its colored bright-brown, very long dust of dirty tracks... Even more real i think...

I see brown dust. Black doesn't sound normal to me.

And I think they've limited the dust for better performance. But as my game plays very good (especially after some performance tuning) I would like to see MORE DUST!
