Something that needs to be fixed immediately. This game is quickly becoming unplayable, and it has nothing to do with the actual gameplay!!
I was on with 5 other clan mates last night, all of which wanted to play the game together. The game itself is real fun. Most players agree about this when they are lucky enough to get into a server. The problem is getting there. Before the weekend started, I was able to start a room and invite friends. Now not. The friends menu locks up and takes minutes to get out of it. The only option I get now when I click on a friend is Delete User or Cancel. When I start a server, I cant lock it anymore or Reserver slots for friends. I was able to do this before the weekend overload. This sucks, especially when trying to play COOP MP with friends. When I start a server, my friends were not able to see it in the server browser, yet players can connect to it from Quick Match. My friends were also able to connect via LAN connection, but they are not "logged" in and started back at "Private" ranks. I have forwarded the ports, it's not a firewall issue, the first few nights of playing after release had no such issues. We meaning all 6 of us that were on ventrilo last night, did not see the same servers in the server browser. We figured, let's join the same game. None of the six of us could see the same server. Meaning not even two out of 6 of us saw one server that another friend saw. Something is amiss here, hopefully it is a matter of adding more server power, or a master server reboot. CODEMASTERS, please respond...this will heal some of the frustration, most people really enjoy the game, but are becoming frustrated just getting to play it online. C'mon now...having trouble connecting now Last edited by viiiper; 13-10-2009 at 04:29 PM. Reason: consecutive posts merged |

Thanks for your help buddy. I see that. Kudos on your condescending douchy response. Am I cluttering your superbly organized forum? Wanted to document in detail some of the other issues constructively besides just connection issues. Problem is many of the posters on this forum like to be asshats and not really help out. Thanks again, maybe you will have some wise ass response to this as well.

My first post, yay! lol. Don't worry,I'm not mean like some of the "
" you referred to, lol. My hubby and I have been having this exact same problem the past 2 nights , so your not alone (he sits right behind me so finding him shouldn't be this difficult). All we can do is hope they fix it soon in a patch. I was a big BF2 fan and I did not like many FPS games after that. I almost decided not to try this game, but I am glad I did. I had so much fun when we were able to play. Other than the server issues I haven't had any problems with my game.... yet. If it's not fixed soon, I am going to be very upset that i bought 2 copies of this game. I am glad you brought this up, it was the first server post i seen not about connection issues. I am sure they are well aware of the server problems, so just be patient, and hopefully they are trying to get it fixed up.Hi Mystic

All you have to do is step 1...
(1)setup your router to forward port 9105/udp (2)find out your ip address (3)go to LAN option (4)create a server (5)inform your clan m8ts/buddys of your ip (6)Direct connect to your ip in the LAN option (not online) (7)play the best co-op game on all formats This game absolutly shines in co-op mode, without doubt the best experience ive had in 14 years of online gaming, to some it up in 1 word AWESOME... |

I can play offline for the most part with no problem with friends, but we finished all the missions and want to play some multiplayer now. I have heard from a few friends that hamachi works also, so you may want to download that and give it a try with your buddies.

Thanks Punky....my whole goal with the topic was to get the info about the menu browsing into the right hands.
Glad to know there is a patch in the works. Hopefully it is soon...before people get too frustrated. Better yet...If you want a private game, for now, you can start a LAN, give your buddies the IP and play what you like. If you want to host an MP game with more than just your buddies: Log in to MP online. Create Game Launch Server Buddies can still join from the LAN menu by manually entering the ip. Public Quick Match joiners will still be able to get into your server. Only problem is that your buddies that joined via the LAN menu will not receive any XP this way. But it is a quick fix to be able to play together for now. When can we expect the issues I mentioned in the first post to be resolved? The reason I ask this is because most of these functions were working at some point when the game was initially released. Seems like all the new players in the last 3-4 days have overloaded the "master" server or something to that effect. IMO fixing those issues would at least calm people down, and they can enjoy some online play. I think more patience will be granted in waiting for a patch if the online issues, that previously worked, can be resolved quickly. Last edited by viiiper; 13-10-2009 at 04:29 PM. |

Looks like the online system is running again. Will test fully tonight to make sure friends, invites, and servers showing correctly are all working. I usually host, so my clan mates will be able to let me know if they all see my host server in the browser.
