Default Future Combat Systems

Future Combat Systems (FCS) is a project from the US Army which is already in progress and for example the US soldiers will be equipped with kevlars which can stop even a machinegun projectile (I can already hear people crying "IMBA" ). And they also get mini-laptops which provide them with information like position of your comrades and enemy positions which were spotted via lasermarker which is mounted on your weapon.

Here's the FCS timeline:

They will also get new vehicles and robots which are controlable with a XBox360 controller like in this pic here. And their ACU camo will probably be replaced by the Multicam which is far more effective than the ACU.

They also want to make new fighting vehicles such as the self propelled artillery where they already made a prototype of it. You only need 2 crewmembers to operate this vehicle because it's realoading automatically.

This was just a small part just to give you an impression, and there's much more and it would be really cool to make a MOD out of this.
Check out these sites for more info:

Your ideas and thoughts please

Some of this stuff will be in CSP, as we have the ability to keep pretty up to date with US military equipment (OPSEC permitting of course). We won't be doing any really future stuff, it all has to be current issue and we have to have a pretty good idea of how it works. However, you'll see rangers(with SCARs)/delta/SF/PJs in multicam for example and get to use some of the latest generation toys, like the M41 Saber ITAS TOW launcher with TOW2B top attack missiles on your HMMWV (4.5 km range, almost twice that of javelin), and I bet OFP2 will have something along the lines of the Blue Force Tracking by default, the OFP1 map on easy is very similar to BFT. We'll refine to be a bit closer to the BFT system.

Btw, the current issue ESAPIs are certified up to 7.62x63mm M2AP, which is more than any machinegun i know of below 12.7mm. Based off that I think it could stop any 7.62mm MG round.

If you like the future weapons then check out the TV show called Future Weapons, he talks about the new body armour called "Dragon Skin", it can stop armour piercing rounds and even a grenade.

The arty tank is also true(NLOS-Cannon) , it is very mobile self loading and they are aiming to get it to fit in a C130 and can be dropped into the battlefield anywhere in the world within hours.

I was hoping this was another mod so i could add it to the list of mods ( i hope the list gets pinned).

I think most of the FCS vehicles have been axed, from the lastest DOD budget. The only one to make it thru was the NLOS cannon. The lastest cut backs also hit the Air Force as the F-22 & the C-17 got canned too. Some of the tech that was gonna be intergrated into the new vehicles will filter down to the Abrams & Bradleys. So its a safe bet we will see an A3 version of the Abrams & A4 version of the Bradley as it looks like they wont be replaced for sometime now.

I don't think either were canned, they're just not actively purchasing and are maintaining the ones we currently have.

Btw, Dragon Skin is to heavy and prone to failure in environmental extremes.

Future body armor will probably be lighter than the current issue soft + hard armor like the IOTV or MTV, it'll be just a plate carrier.
