Hello, after lurking on these forums for a few weeks and reading what people have to say about OF: DR, I've decided to join myself and participate in your conversations.

The first time I played Operation Flashpoint was when I rented it for xbox a few years back, and was stunned by it's realism. I haven't thought much of it until I learned, about a year ago, that they were creating a sequel (of sorts).

This is the first image of DR I saw, and what sparked my interest:

Anywho, there is one thing that is causing me much trepidation about this game. And that would be the release date. And since I don't want to start an extra thread, I figure I'll ask here.

Sources such as Gamespot and IGN claim it to be on May 26, but this site is only posting it as Summer '09 and (to my knowledge at the time of this posting) there has been no official announcement. Can anyone tell me for sure whether the May 26th date is legit, or if it's pure poppycock.

There is no way they could release this month with the level of promo they are doing.

The aim is late June atm, the game as we speak is still being built and it takes at least a month to generate the retail volume for the game.

Thanks, I found it strange that sites would have dates up without CM giving an official date.

Hey randy, thats usually a cheap tactic to ramp up hits on that particular website.

Usually they set their own date so they can start logging pre-orders and then when may 26th hits, they say, "sorry, we don't actually know when it's comming. But we do know it's in the summer sometime." Bunch of friggin jerks
