That keep me coming back for more!
Last night I was playing hardcore, no respawns infiltration on one of those rare lag-free 32-player servers. The map was "lumber yard" and I was part of the 22-strong PLA force. I hopped in the APC right away and, brilliant team cohesion as always; nobody joined me. I drove the APC into the lumber yard with the sides mostly covered by some logs and started unleashing hell on the approaching USMC. I think I had reached 9 kills (out of a possible 10) when I paused for a moment of reflection... I checked the map to see if the last remaining player had been sighted and somehow; all but one of my team mates were KIA. I told the only other guy alive on my team to stick by one of the SAM sites whilst I layed mines down near t'other. I then went for a little drive with my APC to hunt down this illusive lone-wolf. I stopped in a field about 800m from the objective and scanned using the thermal gunner sights. I caught sight of the last man. A lone sniper with his Light Fifty. I opened fire but shot slightly short. He ran away and wasn't seen for about 5 minutes, so I drove towards his last known-position. On the way there, however, my APC got stuck on a rock. Realising the sniper could be making his way to the objective, I got off the APC and started strolling towards the objective. I was near a heavily vegetated area when I heard a bullet whiz past my head. It was him!!! But rather than shooting me, he had just taken out my last remaining team mate. So now it was just me, him and the objective. I cautiously approached the objective, hiding behind a sandbag about 150m from the SAM site I had mined. The heat was really on. I could sense the sniper was close and he had a mere 3 minutes remaining to destroy the objective. I continued to observe using my binoculars but my view was interrupted - by a large flash of clothing.... The sniper had just casually walked past without seeing me. He edged slowly towards the SAM site with under one and a half minutes remaining as I observed him uneasily through my QBZ-95's iron sights. As he reached the SAM and stopped to place the charge, I took the shot. Rightly unconfident in my killing ability with the QBZ, I took a careful shot at his head, but it fell slightly short and appeared to hit his neck or somehow "scraped" his head. He ran from the objective with what I assume to be the detenator in his hands and I shot once more. Blood, but no kill. I knew this was the end...... He ran straight into one of my carefully placed AP mines before he could detonate the C4. So yeah. That was one of the most intense, exciting and in the end rewarding gameplay experiences I've had on this game. Infact on any game! Sorry it was a long story, but I felt inclined to share it to enliven the mood a bit here. If you did read the whole thing then you have a better concentration span than most - thanks!

That was actually a bloody good read, sir. Sounds like a tense scenario from a movie and nicely written - Well done!
![]() I think this is what is upsetting so many folk. This game has such great multiplayer potential and if only the devs would address player's issues and concerns, or even communicate with their customers, many could experience great scenarios like this. Stannie

Excellent story! Sounded intense!
Too bad about the lack of teamwork, though. Hope that can improve. Nice to hear an MP success story for this game.

Sounds like VengefulSpirit's server. He runs 24+ man no respawn. It gets intense and fun. The only problem is hoping to catch it in the browser before it starts....otherwise you would never know its happening. No respawn is the way to go with this game. promotes teamwork, tactics and heart pumping excitement. |
