Default ONLY 2x anti aliasing with 4890,6gigs ram and i7 on 1080p? HELP?

Can someone give some insight?I've read everyone say how they can max everything including 8x AA with only 1 4850.I just got a Sapphire 4890 Vapor-x and I can max everything on my 56' hdtv running at 1080p,except when i have aa set to 4x or more the framerate is extremely choppy under 25 fps no matter what i do.At 2x aa it runs at a constant fps between 40 and 60 fps.

If I use ccc to set the aa settings at 8x or anything for that matter,it doesnt overide the settings in game, basically leaving me with no aa whatsoever.Every other game runs perfect with max settings 8x aa,and i just built this pc which is up to date.I've tried overclocking the card, messing with sound card settings, etc. Can anyone tell me how they are getting 8x aa everything maxxed at high res with 60-80 fps?Ive tried both win xp 32 and win 7 64.Do you use in game settings aa or ccc override? Thanks for any info. Here are my specs.

Read about someone else having the same problem- nice rig, crappy fps. He tried a bunch of stuff too, but what fixed it was updating his video card driver.

If that doesn't do it, maybe checkyour CCC to see if your card is doing any adaptive anti-aliasing (Multisampling, Supersampling) as that could put a lot of strain on your system. Also, try to disable forcing vsync through the CCC if there is an option.

I have the latest ati drivers made on 9/11 version 9.9,and I have tried ALL forms of aa in ccc.As I mentioned, the ccc settings do absolutely nothing in game. The in game aa settings are the only ones that work....at 2x or nothing. Thanks for the help though. Is anyone else using ati's latest drivers and aa maxed with good framerates?

Too bad it didnt work. But I just have to make sure I'm clear-

I'm not talking about the regular AA settings, in CCC there should be a setting that has multisampling, etc. as one of its options and that should be disabled to see if that is problem.

Also, have you hit F1 while in graphics menu? From there you can crank up the games AF levels to 8x I think with a few other options in there.

Yeah,i've tried every option for aa and vsync and f1 settings.I'm downloading driver 9.7 as i type to see if that helps.I KNOW there must be something wrong. It cant be the card though, since all the other games run perfect. Thanks again for the help.I'll post after i roll back the drivers.

might be the game + the card, I know for a fact the 4000 series cards would tend to screw up the textures in BF2 PR all the time so it could be a compatibility problem...

Im running the game at around 90-100fps with the rig in my sig so you should def be beating that

1920x1200 with 2xaa all high settings 90-100fps
with 60+ characters on screen it never dips below 80

I have everything on Max (8x AA, V Sync, 8x AF etc) at 1440 x 900 (the highest res I can go) and get very smooth FPS on my rig (see sig) and my PC is way less powerful then yours. Not sure on the exact number though.
