Thank you for clicking and I would appreciate it if the entire thread was read
![]() My hobby and passion is level design/game design primarily for multiplayer. I am in the editor working on a new multiplayer map and I found that the 4km^2 area size (2kmx2km) is indeed NOT HARDCODED. I personally believe the size was restricted due to the lack of dedicated servers that consoles are known for and was implemented into the PC version of this game. Below I show the [2km x 2km] version of Chokepoint, the [4km x 4km] version of Chokepoint, and the [8km x 8km] version of Chokepoint. How it would play online with 32 players is beyond me with the current peer-to-peer system but probably most likely not very well. This is a TDM PvP map but just imagine if it was infiltration where the infiltrating team literally had a 360 Degree ability of attack. They could circle around the area with different squads and plan an attack accordingly. It really could enhance the gameplay ten fold. ----[2km x 2km]----------[4km x 4km]----------[8km x 8km]--- ![]() Many people may say that 32 players is simply not enough for this size of a battlefield but if you implement a lot of armor and vehicles into the map it easily becomes a great size to play on also if you set the server as NO RESPAWNS. I plead and beg for codemasters to implement a dedicated server system for the PC community coupled with an auto-downloader of PvP maps so our PC community can thrive with HUGE variations in online gameplayability(I don't think this is a word but it sounds good). Lastly if you allow modability of this game with somehow preventing the ability for cheating online along with an SDK so we can create our own 3d models you are looking at a HUGE win in the PC market. I think I can speak freely for the PC community when I say this thread shows the potential of this game. I bought the game and will continue to support the franchise and what you are trying to accomplish if you help to support us, the dedicated PC community. Why cant they just make a post about it so we can stop begging already.
CM please just come out and say yes or no, this month or never. So sick of the silence, in this case its not golden. I think we should give CM until monday to answer or **** them and this game. |

Why are you posting it here, why not actually contact codemasters?!
Read this thread: This is not the complaint forum: Info in Post P.S. Don't you mean making a mission, not making a map? |

Great news.
But in our forum a question emerged. Is it really possible to start such a mission in the editor, is there no error message or another defect on the mission?? (e.g. the grey screen that shows up when you place too much entites) |

Seriously I'm not having a go but do you think they don't know it has/had potential ? This is the game they wanted, it might not be the game you, I / or indeed many others wanted but its their game released in the exact format they wanted.
If they wanted to give us an SDK we would have one, if they wanted SADS we would have one. And if they intended to release them at a later date then they would be screaming it from the rooftops. Give up, its done, move on, this goose is cooked, this parrot is no more, this ship has sailed, this horse has bolted. They aren't listening. It might be sad but its true, your wasting your time. Either like it for what it is or accept that it is'nt going to change. And like I've said before If there's more than 1000 people still playing this by Easter, I will eat the internet
