Co-Op Question?

Hello everyone I am new to these forums and have never posted on a forum before, but I would really appreciate it if someone would shine some light on my question. O.K lets say, three of my friends join my Co-Op session that I have created, and one of my other friends did not get the game on release day therefore cannot join the session. So this brings forth the problem of only having one empty slot for my Co-Op extravaganza. Now if we decide to start the campaign without my friend, will my fire team basically be made up of three human players and one AI bot? Or will it just be my three friends and I on our own fire squad without an additional AI bot? If the conclusion is of me and my friends playing with an AI bot, will the host of the session have control of the bot or whoever is promoted to squad leader? I would really appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me.

P.S: We are going to have the Xbox 360 version of the game.

i beleive all empty slots are filled by ai ... if a friend leaves the game his place is taken by ai also
