Agreed, but kicking up dust when it hits the ground (collision event) and having the helicopter slow down more before it starts rolling would add much needed weight to the animation. The devs might be able to use a deformed artillery explosion animation for the dust effect.

Every helicopter can be brought down by concentrated small arms fire.

And the MI-8 in the video wasnt particularly fast. Maybe it received small arms fire over a longer period of time

Small arms fire will bring down an Mi8 if the pilot gets shot and killed. I'm a flight sim fanatic and the helicopter coming down didn't bother me. Like Viiiper said it's an infantry sim so that's where the weight is modeled. To model all working components in a helicopter would be for the most part a large waste of resources due to the fact they play a relatively small roll in the game.

In the grand scheme of things this seems very minor.

If we were yo compare other game then you might have a case but they all generalize model destruction. It's the way games are made, the helicopter is a simple husk model (empty shell) it has no real interior nor does it have real moving mechanics driving the fake rotor, it's just a spinning (animated) object, there is no weight assigned to it like in a real flight sim. and even those are far and few between.
I understand this is infantry sim, i always say same to my friends, ArmA and OFP is infantry sim.
But i only say can use diferent animation for rotor broke, not instant stop, CM can add progresion stop of rotor for helicopter. I not demand autorotation feature (but is good feature), only say rotor not stop at instant

I know you did and even added some text under what I posted. I could have PMed him the info. but the other readers would have assumed I made something up and had no information to support it.

Of all things you guys want from this game, CM is trying to polish the experience this "problem" is a total nitpick in the big picture and has no impact on gameplay just a visual feature and of all things this doesn't need to be taking up CM's time to polish the experience and the actual gameplay of the game.

If you want to talk about the thesability of shooting helicopters in reality compared to a game (this game) then make your own topic and plz don't off topic the OP's thread about his option on the ingame anim.

I'm not really too bothered if the shot down animation isn't amazing, I don't really plan on getting shot down anyway. I seem to have a knack at surviving.
