Okay I was just wondering how CM are going to deal with achievements and trophies.
Maybe CM should be real bold and state that this is a Milsim and achievements and trophies are not apart of this game... that way all the kiddies might give it a wide birth, and serious console gamers can help elevate OFP DR to greatness. I've never once played a game simply to unlock an achievement and get 20 gamer points or aim for a gold trophy... that's why my gamer score is crap! "Super Sniper Shot!" Kill two enemies with one bullet = 15 gamer points. Your thoughts please... ___________ << added page 12 link>> http://community.codemasters.com/for...&postcount=112

We have allready had a few threads on unlocks and a reward system for noobcakes.
My reply is the same; No. Why must every game pander to the 12 year old noobcake crowd at the loss of others. Every Valve game makes me sick with the amount of stupid achievements. "Win the game" "Kill somthing" "Play the game like a normal person and here is 5 achievements" |

I believe the OP is talking about consoles and not the PC version. I don't think there's ever been a 360 game free from achievements so I doubt this will be different. I have no passion for achievements but if they must be in it would be nice to see some creative ones.

Just so you know, its required by Microsoft that you put a certain amount of achievements into an Xbox 360 game so that the points total 1,000.

First off, you know good and well that multi-plat games go all the time with achievements on console that you never see on PC. Second, how would it be dumbed down cause of achievements? Lastly, your beloved Arma II will be required to do such for the 360 version aswell, so if by some completely random possibility that a game can be dumbed down cause of achievements then both games will be. |

Hopefully this wont carry over to PC nor be done in a manner that sullys OFP's good name.
