Just got back from a small airsoft match with some friends. Was a blast shooting eachother =D Was curious if anyone else plays airsoft around here. It's a lot cheaper then paintball.

But of course I do. Great fun, and finally I do get my ass away from the puter and actually move some (without getting bored after two weeks).

Some people I know wanted to go to an event (Berget 5 if you've heard about it), but they wanted a whole team and they were only three. So they asked around if someone wanted to start a new team in our town so we could all go. Thought it would be fun to try out. So, a month of training (we weren't realy very good at the event...trust me) and one large event later I was hooked.

Got a job and I was...still poor but with better gear. Damn that stuff is expensive if you want it to be.

Still waiting for a few things to come from the US, then I need to actually find a scope + rings that'll fit my G3 claw mount...then I need...

But anyways, yeah, I play and I'm loving it. Both gaming, building (put an FTK in my gun last weekend) and all that.

we have an airsoft uzi that we give to whoever is getting owned really bad :P

Btw, while we're at the subject, you people play indoors/CQB or forrest/long range games, or something completely different?

As we don't have a CQB "arena" anywhere close to us but the "county" has lent us some forrest we basically just play there. Have been talks about going somewhere else to play CQB, but nothing has been arranged so far...

I play Urban Terror, which is a cross-platform game, meaning, playable on mac, windows and linux

Its kind of a mix of CS with Unreal Tournament, with crazy jump aerobatics. There are even maps for learning to do them crazy jumps and speedy strafes and slides.

Also, its free, its a 740mb download but unzip and ready to play. Its based on the Quake3 engine and runs really well. I'm known there as |RiP|300+ so if you see me around yell me (I will shoot you back in acknowledgement :P ).

Havent done CQB yet. All my stuff has been forest-type at the moment.

As far as my gun, it's an ICS M4-RIS version 2. I've modified it quite a bit:

PDI 170% spring
ball bearing bushings
ball bearing polycarbonate spring guide/piston head
tightbore 6.04mm barrel
TM EG-1000 motor
Rewired from PEQ to Full stock for large battery / deans connectors

There is a pretty large group in San Diego that takes MilSim to a whole new level. I don't play myself... yet (no time) but I can see how addicting it can be. I heard from McPlowed that he is looking at doing some here in SoCal...
