Do I need to buy the game?

A mate of mine kindly got me a 3-day pass for lotro. I love it so want to carry on playing when my 3 days are up (Monday).

Will it let me just start paying a subscription or will I need to go buy a retail copy of the game before I can do that?

depends if you installed the 3 day trial of the game this is just a scaled down versions of the game. even if you didnt think you need to buy the full game to get a full game key

so long as you add the new license key to your current account your char will remain only way to loose it is if you delete it or create a new account
