Default Music 2000 Manual page 2

Hi,

is there anyone who has the manual of Music 2000? We need to know the rights of using our compositions made with this program. We asked the customer service, but they told us to look at page 2 in the manual. Unfortunately we have lost this manual book.

We were grateful if you could post the important paragraphs or simply scan the whole page two.

Thanks for helping us!

See you,
playerijack

PS: Sorry for our bad English - we are German

Hello,

we've asked the customer's service and they wrote to us the paragraph:

Quote:
"You are entitled to a world-wide royalty-free
licence to make, use, sell, distribute and
publish any works that you create with
Music 2000(tm) or using any audio or
video components of Music 2000(tm)
provided that any such works are clearly
marked on the media or packaging with the
above Music 2000(tm) logo and that you
have posted to us acknowledgement of your
intended use.
This acknowledgement should be in the form
of brief details about the works you have
created and contact information and should
be posted to:
Music 2000(tm) Registration Dept., P.O.
Box 6, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK.
This licence does not include the right to use
any recordings or components of 'Music
2000(tm)' in any commercial music or video
creation product. No licence is granted in
respect of the original compositions by
Grooverider and Leftfield."
See you,
playerijack

Smile General Practice

Hi,

As far as I'm aware (moderators correct me if I'm wrong!) but the rules about using the logo and informing Codemasters are generally considered a courtesy and not an actual requirement.

I believe it would be nice to celebrate the fact that an MTV/MUSICtm product was used in creating your music, and Codemasters may well be interested in how you're using the products, especially if it's innovative or exciting in some way.

You can't use ANY of the commerically licenced music in these products as they are 100% copyright the original artists/labels -so no remixes, or using parts from these songs for anything other than personal use. Neither can you sell-on the individual sounds or riffs in the products as a commercial sample CD or Download.

However, any 'complete' music you create using the built in sounds or riffs is your own property, and as such you can share or even sell them unhindered.

Hope you have some success!
