Exclamation WoW troubles

WoW isn't acepting any more new players until they get their network issues sorted out...
Read article here

Well I must say I wouldn't have expected this from Blizzard. They always seem so on top of everything. They started off well but now seem to be on a downward spiral that is having a bad effect on their game... Maybe they just didn't anticipate the sheer numbers of people they were going to get? Maybe, they did have to quickly line up around 40 extra servers early on after launch... It just seems like a bit of an oversight.

I expect it will all work out alright in the end though as it is Blizzard and once the problems are straightened out their enviable reputation will shine through and people will forget...

Make sure you have your EU copy pre-ordered.

Lol I have, I think that they were just unprepared for the level of interest. SOE must be quite happy to see this as their EQ2 servers have been extremely stable for a new release.

Yes I'm glad for the first time ever I decided to actually wait for an official euro release of an MMORPG.

EQ2 have had problems aswell, which is why they gave out 3 days free time to players and an increase in xp in a 24 hour period.

Yeah, it is a good interview. When systems have problems like that, only really open information -- nomatter how unpopular it might be -- will keep players on side.

But I'm sure it's a "problem" other developers would like to be facing!

Hehe... All I can say is that I have learned an important lesson. When pre-order is offered to beta testers, take it. I have friends that wonder why I am not playig after having been a game tester... lol, I can't get a copy anywhere. I feel silly.

As to the article, I am glad that Blizzard is being honest about their troubles. Its a good game and they are not the first to have had troubles at launch, I am hopeful that they will adjust and meet their fans' expectations. Anything else will surely hurt the industry as a whole imo.

Hi Satine!

I have a very good news for U! Blizzard is about to open european beta to new players.

If you want to join, take every day a look at the WOW main page, there will be soon a subscription procedure to receive a valid key for the beta.

Thank you for the info. bigboy666. I've actually got a copy of WoW on pre-order still (even though I said I was going to cancel it ) so in just a few short weeks I'll be able to play at release. I guess I'll wait until then as EQ2 is keeping me busy in the meantime!
