Song of Aid

The tooltip for this is a bit cryptic as to exactly its use. It appears to be a cast for a limited time during which other members can get off special attacks. Is this its function? ie: you would inform the group, right I'll do an aid, get ready to off load your specials.

I note that being a "channelled" song, you are unable to cast/sing anything else for its duration.

Can someone give guidance as to their experience of when best to use this song, what situations its good for, when not to use it etc. Looking for ideas on best practice really.

From what I can tell

It opens up a lot of skills which otherwise have prerequisites in terms of chains of attacks. For example, a load of our songs become available without the need for going tier 1 - 2 - 3 - ballad. ( though as it's a maintained song that's not a great deal of use to the person singing )

The main use I'd see is

1) when you are useless other than in healing, due to massive level differences, this enables you to enhance the people who can have an effect.
2) when another character can make a massive difference with one of their skills, though timing this is kind of tricky.

If you are grouped with another minstrel , then it will give the other minstrel access to all song tiers for instance.

If you are grouped with a guardian , gives them access to both there 2 reponse skills, the shield line for blocking and the attack line for parrying.

there are a few others, and I can not remember the full list that it gives , but it is a fair few..

However,from what I keep trying to find out is, that the guardian or champion is meant to have a conjunction starter that starts from a response skill and then they have to follow a line of skills and at the end they are able to start a conjunction, but I bAdded elieve the skill is bugged and or has been removed from that class.

I don't think it gives access to the captain's Party member death repsonse, and not sure weather it gives access to enemy death response either I shall have to check up on that.

it does however give access for the lore-mater to heal more , and more often, but that makes no sense as if your party is needing more heals why would you be playing a different tune?
Ok so maybe you are just about to run out of power, well the lore-master can stop giving his health away and give his power to you instead.

another thing is that if you get hit , you lose it completely cos it doesn't get to the part of the song that gives the buffs in time.

So to your last question of if it has a use, currently, I believe it doesn't,

perhaps it should reduce induction timers or reset timers that would make it nice and useful.

Ill add that I have found that it does give captains thier Enemy Defeat Reponse but does not give fellowship member defeat reponse.

does not allow champions to do anything still

and does not give the response for the guardians to start thier conjunction either.

lastly it's still useless.
