Any suggestions for a vocation for the minstrel? I tried Explorer in the beta but there wasn't much in there I could make use of early on. And once I got into medium armour I didn't really use it except to chop wood. Anyone got any suggestions?

Mine is a tinker.
Jewelcrafting is useful for you and your mates, cooking rocks and... well, mining is useful for a jeweler ![]() I suppose, but i'm not sure, that scholar vocation can be nice. Maybe you can ask on crafting section

I went for Yeoman. Cooking goods will provide nice buffs later on, and tailor for my light armour. All I do is trade with a friend who can make my boiled leather and I'm all set.

If your primary aim is to make medium leather armour for yourself and others, then Explorer is a better choice really. Getting to grandmaster involves boiling thousands of hides, so if you're relying on friends to do it for you, you'd better know them well
. You'll also need polished gems for the nice stuff so it's wise to make friends with a tinker, though you don't need these when you're just leveling up your craft level.

I think Tinker, my fellowship will be armour smith so it ties in nicely, i get the ore he makes armour, and i make the trinkets, I hope any way.
But it is best to form a good team and work together on your proffesions, I think it must be like that, it will be difficult to solo a proffesion from the looks of things.

Tinker...Jewellery is useful and extremely nice later on with Mastery crits...and cooking is essential for regen.

See when I think about professions I don't think what would suit my class, i think what would make me money on AH, what is the profession that the least people will choose.
I think if you go with a profession for yourself, to make armor or the great food for yourself, you end up spending more time and money getting recipe, plan and whatever you perceivably want. But if you choose to make just for AH you don't really worry about what you make. As long as you are making raw materials then it will sell. I choose explorer for the gathering skills, thinking that people will find it the most boring or time consuming and choose not to take. I think about my time in WOW (sorry really didn't want to compare, hard not to) gathered materials in wow sell great, because people just don't want to spent time on gathering. |
