Well, so far the only component I carry is pinches of sand for Sleep. (Wizard)
Fireball needs balls of Bat Guano and Sulphur, but that's about all I can remember from the arcane side of things. I'm assuming you know that you can get reagents from arcane reagent vendors? in which case, opening up the shop window, and selecting a reagent, then pressing Z will tell you which class the reagent is for, but getting a full list of reagents/spells may take a while. Personally, I took the Eschew Materials feat at character creation in preparation for Stoneskin much, much later. Hopefully this way I can avoid or significantly limit the bankrupting of myself that I can easily see coming later

DDO doesn't work like PnP for components. As far as i can tell, each level of spell has a particular component associated with it; for clerics, for example, all level 1 component spells use small candles, level 2 use eyelashes in gum arabic (I think), etc. There are some exceptions to the rule (eg Stoneskin) but I haven't progressed far enough to know what they are yet

currenty only stoneskin needs a special material component, it is sold in one of the houses (I think House Jorasco) and costs about 2950 for 10 uses (!)
(and flame arrow needs normal arrows as component) the other spells components are cheap , from some silver for lvl 1 components to about 35 gold for lvl 5. important: eschew materials doesn't work with spells that require special expensive material components like stoneskin , so that feat is pretty much useless. |

I just found two ingredients for level 2 arcane spells and I havent found use for the other. I think the name was something about bone. The other is Bull Dung.
I was hoping that there was a site out there somewhere with a complete list

OK, I just popped into the Marketplace, and the vendors in the ludicrously oversized tent sell the following:
Wizard/Sorcerer Components: (and Base Prices) Level 1 Component - 10 Pinches of Fine Sand (5 silver) Level 2 Component - 10 Eyelashes in Gum Arabic (2 Gold) Level 3 Component - 10 Balls of Bat Guano and Sulfur (5 Gold) Level 4 Component - 10 Hearts of Hens (10 Gold) (Quite why the hearts of 10 hens cost 10 Gold, I'm not sure. And surely you should get a super family value bucket for free as well? )Leve 5 Component - 10 Crystal Cones (30 Gold) Stoneskin Component - 10 Pouches of Granite and Diamond Dust (2500 Gold) Cleric Components: Level 1 Component - 10 Small Candles (5 Silver) Level 2 Component - 10 Pinches of Bull Dung (2 Gold) Level 3 Component - 10 Hollow Reeds (5 Gold) Level 4 Component - 10 Diamond Dust (10 Gold) Level 5 Component - 10 Mushroom Powder and Saffron (30 Gold) Bard Components: Level 1 Component - 10 Pork Rinds (5 Silver) Level 2 Component - 10 Bone Bits (2 Gold) Level 3 Component - 10 Licorice Roots (5 Gold) Ranger Components: Level 1 Component - 10 Chameleon Tails (5 Gold) Level 2 Component - 10 Cat Hair (10 Gold) Paladin Components: Level 1 Component - 10 Powdered Silver (5 gold) Level 2 Component - 10 Eagle Feathers (10 Gold) And from a quick bit of experimentation, it looks like all level 1 Wiz/Sorc spells that need a component use sand... Which I'm not too keen on, but at least it stops my inventory being filled up instantly by huge quantities of components. :edit: Had a bit of an explore around House Phiarlan's shops, updated the above lists to include all reagents I could find and base prices. its really easy, if you examine the material you see for which class spells the material is need and the little roman letter on the icon indicates for which lvl this material is used
I = 1 II = 2 III = 3 IV = 4 V = 5 ^^ |

Stone skin eats my income :O
i dont mean to whine to hard but i dont feel like spamming stoneskin mainly becuz its expencive AND its 30+ mana with extend spell. So heres the plan, either you lower the cost on the mats. or you highten the duration of the spell since i have other stuff to cast when being a sorc. 3minz is hardly enough for anything i want to cast it constantly on tanks and clerics, I myself dont need it that much cuz it doesnt stack with invulnerbility robes (5/magic) Its very easy to spent ˝ my pool that way alltho having 800+ SP may seem alot, its not :P but i guess its alright about the money when it gets to it cuz as a caster you dont use 3k on reparing each time like a fighter based =P still its a huge chunk of money one can use in no time =( |
