Is it just me or are contract renewals really hard to sort out..players always say they want a shorter contract even when there offered the shortest contract possible..whats the trick to getting ure best players to sign new contracts or even better LONG contracts..thanks for any help!!

I usually try and do them all myself with really low wages and long contracts, and sometimes it works, but if it gets to December or I feel my offers can't be improved, I let my Assistant do it, which can be a huge risk, but if it works out you usually get little, even none, improvement on the wages.

Let your assistant manager do it, but only if he has high financial accum. Then all off your players in the last year of their contracts should sign extensions on the first of January

It's easy if you do it on the first day of the game or else it will get really hard and unrealistic. Like Boro Boy said though, if your ass man has high financial accumen then he's best off doing it if you can't get them to sign.

Let your assistant manager do it, but only if he has over 80/100 financial accum.

Whats the point in getting the computer to all the jobs for you? What do you get, out of that?
Its more of a challenge to do transfers/contracts/ground rebuilding yourself, it kind of fills in the week between games. For contract talks i wait untill theres 2 years remaining on the contract, then i make a offer, if rejected i make a better/final offer. If this is rejected, thats it, you have time to put the player on the transfer list and get some funds for them, no one wants to see a player sign a pre-contract in the next season. Or you can offer the player as a potential swap, for a player on your shortlist. |
